extremely terrible experience. i had attended the sweet 16 which was tn vs Kentucky. i bought my ticket that wasn’t cheap at all and very close to the floor. the Kentucky fans were extremely mad due to Tennessee winning by almost 15, i get it i would be mad to after driving 8 hours to see a blow out. anyways, i drove 8 hours which means i set down the whole time. im a huge Tennessee fan and wanted to stand up and cheer for my team! I travel and do this every single game with no issue. well, there’s a first time for everything. The Kentucky fans were obviously mad at their team and taking it out on me for cheering for mine. One Kentucky fan went and got like the usher who helps us find our seats to tell me to sit down. I nicely explained to him that I was just sitting for 8 hours and is a die hard fan! He then turned around and told them that I paid for my seat and there is not much he can do. He then gets the cops that came with his gun on hip and told me if I don’t sit down he will kick me out. Remind you, I am not drunk. One, I don’t drink and two I am just standing up for my team. At some point, I go to the bathroom debating if I want to just leave because im so upset and has never experienced anything like this at all and have been to ALOT of places to cheer on the Vols! I run into the same cop that firmly told me I will get kicked out if I don’t sit down. I calmly asked him in front of another security (that’s what they had on their shirt) on why I could not stand up? He begun to lie and say I never told you that you could not stand up and cheer. I was in disbelief because not only did you embarrass me to the point I was almost in tears but now your lying. His name was Cruis If his boss or anyone is reading this please reply to this message. I am now not going to attend the elite8 due to how he made me feel which is sad because I have booked my room for another night just to see my Vols play! Cruis, if you are reading this. Security isn’t for you and you have not only ruined my time here in Indianapolis but you have made me never want to attend Lucas...
Read moreReviewing after a concert, not a football game. The set up for a concert was less than ideal getting into and out of the event. When it's freezing cold, it would be nice if you could enter at any gate. Since you can't really take much in, we were not prepared appropriately for the amount of time walking around outside of Lucas Oil in the bitter cold. Once inside, there were no good options on the floor. It's a hassle going up and down stairs with your hands full. Sometimes in the dark. And with people everywhere. And if you have a can of beer, they have to crack it open which now you have your hands full for a vety long walk with it spilling all over you. Not all stairs lead to the floor and not well marked. Once you make it to the floor with your hands full, you have to pour your drinks into plastic cups. I get the why behind these policies, it's just a huge hassle that could be avoided if they had some food stands on the floor. The concert was great - great sound & lighting, staff was helpful & friendly. Then the departure. The city decided to shut down interstate exits to downtown. Our rides could not come close to pick us up. Many of us tried to go to a nearby hotel lobby to try to figure out how to meet our Ubers or rides as all the surrounding streets were close. It was freezing outside! There were hundreds of us wandering downtown in the cold who were not expecting to be stranded in that weather. It was very blustery and snowing on and off. Downtown Indianapolis is not exactly a safe city, yet so many people were forced to walk the streets late at night. Some intoxicated who were expecting rides but the rides couldn't get to them. Some groups on only women. Not safe!!! Our group ended up walking just over a half mile in the freezing cold to meet our ride. Unacceptable. Lucas Oil should ensure the city has a plan for their patrons to safely and comfortably be picked up. The hassle before the concert and the ride debacle afterwards made the concert...
Read moreThe Lukas Oil Stadium is a very impressive dome. At the end of September 2024 I visited this stadium for the first time on my four-week tour of the US. We arrived in our rental car because our house was only a few kilometers away from the stadium. There are plenty of parking spaces outside too. We found one on the side street for free. The fan mile walked towards the stadium in a good mood. It was the fourth game day of the league and the opponent was the Pittsburgh Steelers. I had seen the Steelers stadium for the first time a week earlier. When we arrived at the stadium, we went through the entrance controls without having to wait long. We were at the stadium within 10 minutes. When you walked in through the entrance, you had a direct view of the playing field. The stadium is in a very impressive building. The wonderful atmosphere really gave me goosebumps. Everything was manageable and well signposted. We looked for our seats and bought beer beforehand. Beer prices here are similar to any other stadium around $14. There were also goosebumps moments when the national anthem was played and a USA flag was rolled out across the entire field. This was my fourth game in two weeks and all I can say is that US citizens honor and value their country. Also very honorable is how they value their soldiers and veterans and honor what they have done for their country. The game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was a very close and exciting game. The Colts ultimately won 27:24. It was a wonderful experience to be here. Anyone who is a football fan should definitely take a look at...
