Shocked that this is even in the Hilton organization. Negatives: VERY loud hotel. Especially if you are in a room above the front desk. We were assigned the âquietestâ room, 737, and it was brutal. The next building on Russell St is a strip club that causes racing up and down the street all night. In the middle of the night the central Post Office, which is directly across the street comes to life! Trucks, people, loading machines, beeping from trucks backing up... terrible. We made multiple calls to the front desk that went totally unanswered! At about 4am we finally received a phone call back and were told to pack up and move to a temporary room to wait and see if they could find an available king room for us. We waited and decided to just move to another hotel. We checked out at front desk and were told we could not request a refund unless we contacted the managers, Josh Ray and Steven Melton. I emailed both and were told no. They said since I stayed the entire night I didnât deserve one! I emailed again to reexplain the request to honor the satisfaction guarantee. Ray replied: Again, we are not allowing this! Wow, shocked. I then took my complaint to Hilton Corporate who repeatedly apologized and issued a FULL refund. Done. Thank you Hilton. NEGATIVES: No microwave only one chair in room No cups in room No coffee maker in room. No TVs worked in gym. Breakfast had terrible choices. Top dollar for no amenities..
POSITIVES: located near top Lucas Oil Stadium but not really near the convention center, restaurants, or convention hotels. Good walk away. Not in an area that would be protected by those attending a convention. I will say that the second room in the back of the hotel they put us in was a little quieter than our original one mostly because it was away from the Post Office.
If you have complaints take it to corporate. You will get NO satisfaction from...
Read moreThis is Hilton trying too hard to be "cool and edgy" and attract younger crowds away from Air B&B. Honestly I felt more like we were staying in a college dorm complete with IKEA furniture. The rooms are snug and no real storage to speak of.
What I liked: the vicinity to the event we were attending-walkable to the stadium and to some good food options, the wall-mounted soaps, conditioners, and shampoos rather than the wasteful and non-environmentally conscious individual items, nice showers, and free to come and go parking. Built in night.light in the bathroom, mini fridge, blackout curtain The staff were nice, though could use some more training in customer service skills. Loved the concierge board with staff picks for food and fun.
What I didn't like: the snugness of the room. The fact that there was no real storage for suitcases. The odd fact that if you turn off the toggle switch in the entryway, you will not be able to turn the bathroom on. No microwave so leftovers would need to be taken down to the lobby to reheat. The ice buckets (not in room, they're just off the lobby downstairs) are pretty much just large margerine tubs, no lids, no insulation to prevent the dripping of condensation from running off the IKEA table and on to the uncarpeted, laminate floor, building a puddle that creates unseen slippery-ness that could possibly cause a nasty accident. Laminate flooring was not particularly clean. The only place I walked barefoot was in the room, and every time I got in the shower I had to rinse dirty foot prints off the floor of the shower. Finally, I do not like hotels that use the same elevator for the parking ramp as is used to access guest floors. It's too easy for someone to piggy-back into somewhere they're not supposed to be.Oh, and we probably shouldn't mention the skunk like smell with suspicious overtones of weed in the...
Read moreWe stayed at the Tru by Hilton on a business trip. It literally felt like we were staying in a dorm room. Almost zero space for two adults to move around in comfortably. We had to sit and stay on our beds anytime we were in our rooms due to the lack of space.
The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable and the pillows offered no support. I had a sore neck the entire duration of our stay.
We were given (2) bottles of water at check in, and when we asked for more, we were told by hotel staff that it wasn't allowed due to a water shortage, but we could buy water. I let her know that water should be provided to guests as a basic necessity, which she continued to push me to buy more water. When I finally asked if there were any water fountains or water refill stations where we could just refill our own water bottles, she begrudgingly told us there was a water refill station next to the gym. That information should have been provided freely, rather than her continuing to push us to purchase water.
We requested turn down service when we checked in. We were not provided it after our first day. I had to go back down and request it again before we received it.
The walls are extremely thin and you can hear EVERYTHING. It is a pet friendly hotel, so all the floors are also LVP. I woke up one morning because a dog was up walking around and I could hear its toenails clicking across the floor. I should never have been able to hear that small of a noise. I could also hear another dog getting up and drinking water.
On the plus side, the complimentary breakfast was pretty good and the room was overall clean. That being said, we WILL NOT be staying at one of these hotels again. I got my fill of dorm rooms when I was in college. If I am paying to stay in a Hilton brand hotel, I expect a much...
