Grand Hall at Historic Union Station — Local services in Indianapolis

We are over the moon happy we decided to work with the entire Union Station Team for our wedding. They gave us the most coordinated, beautiful, perfect, and seamless weekend we could have ever asked for. From the very start of our venue search we were not only blown away by the beauty and history of Union Station, but also by the hospitality and customer service from Eva Schuppe. Eva was wonderful to work with. She is flexible, attentive, fun, helpful, and was genuinely excited for us throughout the entire process. For such a busy individual she treated us like the only bride and groom in the city of Indianapolis. The Chef for our event was incredible. Not only was the food excellent, but we also had special curated meals for our tasting and the wedding day to suit all dietary restrictions. They even packed away fresh meals and stored them in our room the night of the wedding! They have a wide variety and are extremely accommodating to make sure that everyone is happy and full. We were also helped the entire weekend by Eddie at the hotel check-in desk who was so helpful in getting us MULTIPLE room accommodations. His cheery and positive attitude left us feeling so well taken care of. It truly pains me to write this review. My partner and I absolutely fell in love with this venue, it felt like the one. We were ready to book and began reaching out in early April, full of excitement and hope.

Now it’s June, and that excitement has completely evaporated due to the venue’s unacceptable lack of communication. For two months, we received delayed responses riddled with excuses, primarily that their email system wasn’t working and that our messages weren’t going through. Strangely, neither my fiancé nor I had issues with any other venue or vendor. Everyone else was able to reach us just fine.

We genuinely wanted to make this work, but it’s clear the level of professionalism and care simply isn’t there. We were primarily in contact with Eva, and unfortunately, our experience with her reinforced that the venue’s team is either overwhelmed or uninterested in treating couples with the attentiveness and respect they deserve.

We worked with Casey for our reception only wedding. Casey was amazing. She was wonderful during the entire planning process. Super attentive to detail, great communication, and always had a positive attitude. She helped us with our timeline to make the evening flow more smoothly. All of our guests raved about the beauty of the Grand Hall and the food! A month later and I still have people telling me how delicious dinner and cocktail hour was.

The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the bar staff was rude to our guests. They were picking and choosing people to card, which was totally random. We got complaints from guests about being cut-off at the start of cocktail hour—so not even an 30 minutes into the evening.
