I travel a lot for work and my husbands medical procedures, so as a diamond member I book straight through the app and utilize many of the app features regarding checking In and out, messaging the hotel and finding amenities the property has to offer including digital keys. I even use the app to add names of guests who will be joining me and has authorization to charge to the room. Through out the month of February and March we were staying at another Homewood suites property on the other side of downtown- I say all of this because I came with expectations of a similar experience and customer service- and was highly disappointed. Our digital key barely worked, front desk interactions weren’t great but all of that we could have dealt with until Saturday am (we checked in late on Friday) when we noticed a giant crusty green booger smeared on the wall. I will enclose the picture. I told the front desk who apologized and asked if I wanted them to “do something now” and sounded very irritated, so I said I would try to get it cleaned up. After trying to scrub the wall the booger wasn’t coming off. As I was leaving for an appointment I stopped at the desk to tell them I could t get it off. I asked them to please send someone to get it. When we went out to get the valet he was gone and our car was sitting there with no keys. After waiting for 10mins he came back with another car and told us he left our keys at the front desk. I was late to my appointment because of communication. After returning from my appointment my husband and I went back into the room placed the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. While in the middle of an afternoon together our door opened and there stood a young employee who didn’t speak English and wanted to show me on his phone why he was standing in our room- mind you I wasn’t properly dressed. I was irate and embarrassed. He said he came to clean up a spill. We didn’t have a spill and I was thinking housekeeping had already been in for the booger while we were gone for 2 hours. After asking him to please leave our room we noticed the booger wasn’t cleaned up. I was so upset. Even if he was coming to clean then there was no knock on the door and a do not disturb sign. He should have seen the sign and had someone call to make sure we were dressed and it was ok. The booger never got cleaned up. Then as we were leaving for the Gala, a friend met us at the hotel and we went together. This friend was not a guest in my room and I had not added her name on the app- which I do of people I’m traveling with. The valet put her car parking on my room without my consent. Why have the app and rules if your property isn’t going to use them. Now- the reason for the location ding is that no one bothered to tell us that the road the hotel is on is shut down by police after a certain time. After coming home at 12:00am we couldn’t get through to get our car parked. When I asked what was happening- he (the valet) said “well what do you think- there is a club, there is a club, and over there is a club,” I said to him no I’m not from around here and no I didn’t know or anticipate roads being closed and zero communication from the hotel so we knew what to do. We went back upstairs finally and the booger was still there. They never sent anyone. Overall I’m disappointed and would never recommend anyone stay here until they get their communication together! I tried to talk to the front desk agent at checkout about all of this and she just apologized and let me know there was nothing she could do. I’ve had better customer service from White Castle and I don’t spend thousands of dollars a...

We did not use the valet parking but paid to park by the day (I think it was $24/day) in the Blue Garage which was between the hotel and Convention Center - underneath the mall and extremely convenient if you don't mind walking a bit with your luggage. My friend had booked a 2 queen suite through Priceline but a week prior to our stay, she noticed that the reservation was for a King room with pullout. It could not be changed since we didn't book with Homewood. When we arrived, the thermostat would not take the room temperature below 76 so they moved us to another room - still a King, same layout, smaller footprint/square feet. The youngest in our party slept on the pullout which is solid and seemed to me to be better than other pullouts I've experienced. (Not a mattress with a spring/bars under it, but part memory foam/part re-organizing of the cushions.) We loved the spaciousness even in the smaller room. (We would have had room for the air mattress we brought had we stayed in the first room.) Both rooms had large windows and very high ceilings. Double layer window treatments darkened the room very well. The first room faced the street and the 2nd the alley. Even in the alley room we could hear lots of outside noise on Friday night. My only real complaint is that there is no way to lock the barn-style bathroom door (that I could tell) and on the "hinge side" one is able to see into the bathroom a bit. Not a huge deal unless one happens to glance in just the right place at just the wrong time. The inability to lock did lead to one awkward moment during our stay. We ate breakfast there on 2 mornings. There were 2 ~gluten/grain free options (egg/sausage/cheese sandwich - removing the bread - and potatoes - heavily seasoned and maybe not truly GF). There was also a bit of fruit. The hot water wasn't hot enough for the tea, but more suitable for the oatmeal. The next morning we made tea in the microwave in the room and used the disposable cups to take with us. Overall, I would stay here again due to it's location downtown and I would definitely utilize the Blue Parking Garage. {The photos are from the first,...
Read moreSo we decided to stop in Indy bc we happened to be driving thru on our way back to stl memorial day weekend. Had no idea the Indy 500 was that weekend. Whoops. Couple things to know about this hotel: it is in DOWNTOWN Indy. It's a loud, and busy area. Paid parking lots are everywhere but will cost u $20 overnight per day. Valet parking is offered by hotel for $35. Prob per day. The rooms are REALLY nice but this is a remodeled (well done) warehouse. It's got a very industrial loft city kind of vibe. If you're looking for romantic weekend this may not be what you're looking for. If you're young, into racing, looking to bar hop, tour Indy with or without kids, you'll like it. If you get a room with "city view" it's not going to be the quietest room. The main strip is right outside your window and Indy likes their cars and motorcycles LOUD and fast. If you get a room on backside of hotel (they asked us to choose sides) it'll be much quieter. Also, the "room service" runs until 1am, is really cost effective and has everything from pizza to steak to salmon. It's done by kikroys and the food is AMAZING. We went out to this fancy dinner and liked the room service at midnight better than dinner!! The $8 chicken salad was enormous and so good!!! The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful at all times. Day or night. Checking in and out was simple. Really good wifi for Netflix and easy HDMI access for hooking up Roku and whatever else. I sanitize hotel rooms when I check in and am often surprised by how dirty my Clorox wipes are when I'm done and this place was SPOTLESS. Windowsills, thermostat, doorknobs, light switches, tables and counters, microwave, fridge, all spotless. Housekeeping usually misses at least a couple of those. Remotes are sanitized and shrink wrapped. Ceiling fans in bedrooms!!! Why doesn't every hotel do this? And the ceiling fan and lights are on a remote. No guessing over hi and low settings. Our favorite was a button on ceiling fan remote called "woosh". Doesn't everyone need a woosh button in their life?? All in all, a great hotel with a noisy nights stay bc of the race. Not at all the hotels fault tho. We chose city view and if it bothered us that much we would have requested to move. Room service alone...
