Nick's Magnificent is really well kept and the staff are so friendly. There's lots of space and plenty of activities for the kids. Maybe if the Bellevue parents knew about the place it would be better known. You can run ads on Facebook and Instagram on specific zip codes. I think seasonal/thematic events especially in winter weekends when we have nothing to do with kids might compel us to come.(and provide good excuse for social media promo)
The theater area is truly magnificent indeed! I loved the doctor play area and would be thrilled to see it come back somewhere. The market area would be even more fun with a cooking stand added to it.
A smoke-filled tunnel to crawl through might be a fun addition... Simple DIY props like pool noodles transformed into fire hoses, or dolls and stuffed animals in a "burning building" that children need to "rescue" and bring to safety...
As an adult, I appreciate the antique beauty of the jail area, but my child doesn't play there much. If you like the jail theme, making it more interactive could help. The jail cell could become a puzzle where kids need to solve something on the wall to "escape," or it could house a fingerprinting station with a safe, inkless pad and magnifying glass.
The toddler section could use more toys that are actually right for that age group and help with their development. The cranes are a clever idea, but they're pretty hard for kids to actually use, so having three of them seems like too many since we don't spend much time there.
Upstairs looks like the kids could easily jump off from the high stools, so maybe best to leave nothing around the railing.
I really wish the weekday hours were extended like they used to be, maybe until 8:00 or 8:30, especially now that so many more families are coming during winter. Maybe you could offer extended hours as a special perk for members.
My biggest concern is not being allowed to eat inside. This makes it really hard to enjoy our time here because toddlers go through growth spurts and need to snack often. And it makes more sense to just not come instead of having to constantly purchase food and water. During these times, we choose to go somewhere else instead, which is sad because we really do love this place otherwise.
Overall, Nick's Magnificent is wonderful and these changes would make it even better...
Read moreI will say that my older kids enjoyed this place today and would like to return. However, I am torn due to the lack of security. The place is huge and boasts sanitation practices which was what drew me to want to take my kids and nephew. The rooms have upper and lower access points that allow appropriate viewing of the play areas AND many blind spots where a parent could easily lose their child in a crowd of atleast 40 adults and many MORE kids. That would not be such a concern if there weren’t so many doorways and doors a child can get through, AND especially that front door. It is about 10 feet away from the activity room with the ball launchers. There is a huge counter and people are just chatting away or on the phone and sometimes it’s just a young kid behind the desk. A child can easily make it out the door and a parent would not know. I can understand that parents like to have a drink and relax but at this place that is a risk. A parent needs to be completely focused on their young child. I did see some hands on parents in the equipment with their small kids, but not as many as I would have expected with the amount of toddlers and preschoolers playing. And this place is designed for parents to relax, have a drink, and kids to play. So there should be more protections in place to mitigate risk.
There should be security letting people out that front door and an appropriate check in check out system that pairs the child with their adult and only allows that adult to leave with that child. Safety-wise there should be attendants stationed to help ensure lower incidence of injury. So many moving parts inside the enclosures including zip lines steam roller and ropes and then you have toddlers and crazy 10-12 year olds running through it. Cool idea but very risky for the small kids. If improvements were made to security and safety, I would consider coming back for that high cost of...
Read moreVisited this place today with my daughter and another family, but unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. When we arrived, the place was already at capacity, and the front desk asked us to purchase tickets online for an available slot an hour later. Since our plan was to have lunch inside and there was no dedicated waiting area, we offered some food to the kids in the lobby.
That's when things took a turn. A man in a black hat — who claimed to be the owner — approached us, asking us to step aside to avoid blocking the main walkway. We immediately adjusted our position to ensure we weren't obstructing any path. Despite this, he returned, accusing us of not following "rules" and threatening to ask us to leave. This aggressive behavior was unnecessary. Instead of explaining any genuine inconvenience, he seemed more interested in asserting his authority.
Feeling uncomfortable, we moved to our car. However, we had to return briefly because one of the kids needed to use the restroom. The front desk staff member was understanding, but as I exited the restroom, another staff member was sent to escort me out, as if assuming I was trying to sneak back in.
Shortly after, another staff member mentioned that the person claiming to be the owner wanted us to leave and promised a refund for our online ticket, which I am unsure has been processed.
This place may have gained some popularity on Instagram, but it seems they are struggling to match that success with basic courtesy and respect for customers. Unfortunately, the behavior we experienced was not only rude but also carried undertones of discrimination.
A business that treats families this way does not deserve the community’s support until they learn to treat their customers with respect...
