ND Artistry Salon — Attraction in Jacksonville Beach

I hate to even remotely give this review because the stylist was so sweet, but her technique lacks and I think others need to be aware before booking. We were recommended this salon by someone in the community for a men’s cut for my son. Made an appointment for my son to get his haircut with Maddie. That was an easy process and she was very nice.

Where it went downhill was how she cut my son’s hair. It was absolutely terrible and not what he wanted. We showed her what he wanted and explained what he didn’t want to avoid a feminine haircut. We even asked to not have it tapered in the back to avoid it looking weird, and she said she’d leave it longer so it didn’t look feminine. Unfortunately, it’s exactly what was done.

After the service was done, she asked how he liked it and he told her he did, but only said he liked it because he didn’t want to hurt her feelings and wasn’t comfortable having her fix it because of how bad it was. He came in with shoulder-length hair only to walk out with a terrible 90’s female-looking short haircut. Now he’s left feeling self-conscious and won’t go out without wearing a hat or having a hoodie on. Now he has to wait to grow it out and I have to spend another $50 to get it fixed because he doesn’t want to walk around with his hair the way it is. Again, Maddie was very sweet and nice but we...

This place is aptly named because Niki is a brilliant artist. She is one of the only people who has truly listed to what I want in both color and cut. She is truly talented, and she approaches each client as an individual. She also seems to know instinctually what you need (through this is certainly a skill she has honed over many years) - and this combined with her design capabilities and listening skills will ensure you walk away feeling happy and gorgeous. The products used here- Kevin Murphy- give great results in her hands. I am a brunette- and I need a lot of gray coverage. I couldn’t be happier.
