Awesome place for the family. Not so great on 4th of July 2022...the areas all around the park neighborhood was no parking from July 4th to 6th..the paper signs sticks all over...so you either had to go back home from long travel or pay for parking... my parking tab was 27 dollars. So for that particular day...they remove all the beach chairs...under the cabana umbrellas and also it seems they turn off the water pipe in the sand area...so there's NO WATER allowed in the sand area now... how can the children make sand castle or anything for that matter with loose dry sand...you can't even dig a mini hole without the sand caving in..not fun without...
Read moreThis was an unexpected gem on my visit to Liberty State Park. This "beach" is located between Newport and Hoboken PATH stations, and offers great views of downtown and midtown Manhattan.
I was visiting for the Newport Liberty Half Marathon, and so with an 8:30am race start time I got to watch the sun rise from here, which wa great.
This synthetic beach is quite small, and so I'm assuming it gets busy quickly on summer days, but it was a great place to lounge on a deck chair and soak up the autumn sun...
