I’m extremely disappointed with this experience. I booked an appointment over the phone, and the person who scheduled it neither asked for my credit card information nor informed me about any policy involving a $35 charge for no-shows. Had I been aware of this policy, I would have made every effort to avoid being charged.
When I missed the appointment and saw the $35 charge on my card, I felt completely blindsided, How the hell did she get my credit card info, and what was I getting charged for? I don’t mind paying if I’ve missed an appointment, but charging my card without my consent and not disclosing this policy beforehand feels deceitful.
To make matters worse, when I called to address this, the representative was rude and wouldn’t acknowledge any mistake. She(The front desk Asian lady) insisted I book another service to apply the $35 charge rather than simply refunding me (This is their version of helping me). After such an unpleasant encounter, I had no desire to continue any business with them, but when I showed up to discuss this in person, she berated me in front of her staff, which was incredibly unprofessional and humiliating.
I have made appointments at other salons, and while some do have no-show fees, I’ve never encountered a business that doesn’t inform clients of their policies upfront.
If she responds to this, I would like to ask her a few things to address my concerns:
Please stop taking advantage of customers. Clear communication and honesty should always be...
Read moreI recently visited this salon to have my hard gel nails removed, and unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. The nail technician was not knowledgeable about the proper procedure for removing hard gel. Instead of leaving a thin layer of gel on my nails to protect them, she filed down to the base, leaving my nails extremely fragile and soft. They turned bluish and were painful for the first few days, making it difficult for me to do any housework or even wash my hands without pain. It’s been 2-3 weeks, and my nails are still in terrible shape. They continue to break and bend easily, and I’m now forced to use special oils and treatments in the hope that they will eventually recover. I asked for a refund due to the damage caused, and they did refund me, which was the least they could do given the circumstances. Additionally, I want to highlight that this salon engages in unethical practices to boost their ratings. They offer discounts in exchange for 5-star reviews, which skews their overall rating and misleads potential customers. I strongly advise anyone considering this salon to think twice. My experience has been nothing short of awful, and I will have to wait at least 3 months for my nails to fully grow out and hopefully return to their natural, healthy state. I am attaching photos of my nails from the first day and the following days so people can see the damage for themselves. P.S. Before the salon responds to this review with excuses or trying to blame me, let me clarify: I have been doing hard gel and Russian manicure for 10 years and never experienced anything like this before. My nails have always been healthy and strong. This damage happened solely because the nail technician was not...
Read moreI am new to Jersey City and was in need of a new salon for manicures and pedicures. I am headed out of town for two weeks today and booked appointments at Nulux based on the Google reviews and the website description of a "spa-like" experience. Nothing could be further from the truth. Perhaps they excel in hair, but my nail experience wasn't good. The new "pedicure treatment room" is essentially a supply closet with one chair. The nail gel selection is poor. I wasn't offered to use the massage chair, and I realized why when I turned it on myself. The loud banging of the broken chair was such that I immediately shut it off. The nail technician cut me with the cuticle scissors, which I can only hope were clean, but I have no proof that they were, since they were lying on the table. She used an unclean rotor to remove the cuticles which is unsanitary. The worst are my nails. I asked for a gel manicure. I have three nails that look deformed because the gel is too thick in certain areas. One is already chipped, and I have no time to find another salon to have my nails redone. For nearly $100, I have the shabbiest-looking nails I've ever had. It's a cramped, messy, disorganized space with pounding music, which doesn't support a "spa-like" experience. I'm heading to Europe with chipped nails...
