Irma’s Café — Restaurant in Jersey City

Everyone at Irma's is absolutely incredible. First of all I can attest to the magical healing properties of her homemade chicken soup! The hearty, generously packed soup has not only kept body and soul together when I was under the weather but has hit the spot in every conceivable way. What's more I'm feeling like I was just visited by an Angel as I think it might have been Irma that delivered this Manna from Heaven herself! Irma and her team not only went out of their way to serve only the best, most delicious food but they were incredibly generous also, adding extra items I hadn't even ordered. Can't thank them enough, and rest assured I'm looking forward to my next culinary delight from this wonderful establishment! Thanks everyone at 'Team Irma!' Paid $40 for two veggie burritos and orders of rice, pinto beans and pico. It was not worth it, nor was it good.

Their veggie burrito were supposed to come with veggies (seems like a frozen blend), cheese, beans, lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. After getting home, it seemed like there was no cheese, guacamole or sour cream. Halfway in, we saw the tiniest bit.

They were out of yellow rice which is odd. The portion of pico was very small and the beans had no flavor except for sazon packets.

I called to ask what comes in the burrito and they let me know and offered to remake tbem in exchange for the original ones. I agreed but about 30 seconds later I called back to decline because I didn’t want them to waste their food and I didn’t want to walk back in the rain. They declined my call 2 times.

I really like this place. Food is well seasoned & actually travels well. HOWEVER they keep skimping on the sauces/crema. I ordered 4 fried tamales which arrived un-fried(first time they’ve ever messed up my order so whatever) & then with one tiny crema container. Yet If you order 1 it still comes with the same amount of crema. Same goes for everything else that comes with a side of sauce. This might seem like a small thing but when you’re ordering a large amount of food for multiple people (which I often do from here) then it gets incredibly frustrating that they continuously...
