Supremo Food Market of Jersey City — Attraction in Jersey City

I'd like to start off by saying that I come here 2-3 times per week to get groceries being that it's close to me and within walking distance. I've never had a problem .Usually the staff are very nice and friendly but that was not the case today. When I got to the cashier and I was putting my groceries on the conveyer belt the girl was scanning as I was putting them, so by the time I finished she was also finished scanning. I paid then I started bagging my groceries. I checked my receipt and noticed that a few items were overpriced. I waited until she was done with the customers that were after me and I kindly told her that the prices were not correct. She checked, came back and told me that the next time I should look at the screen as the items are being scanned. I politely responded that she was already scanning while I was still emptying out my basket and I didn't want people behind me to wait and it even wait longer as I bag my groceries. She basically gave me a dirty look and said oh well let them wait. The audacity of this person. I believe she got upset because she had to do extra work to correct the issue at hand, but...

New rule that you can't walk around with you backpack is ridiculous - it has to checked at this front makeshift completely insecure desk that this guy stands at chatting not even looking at the bags. *Note I asked him if he will be watching them because I have my computer in this, he did for like maybe while I was standing there lol big disregard for customer belongings. Even better apparently they only select a FEW individuals to check their bags. As in me and one other person? Because as I briefly walked through the store only 10 min ago I counted 8 people with shoulder bags, small backpacks, large backpacks, one person with a small backpack and a tote bag on her arm..

This isn't a clothing store, it's a grocery store and if you really intend to make this a thing don't discriminate and single out a few individuals and leave everyone else with their bags. Because what it looks like is this person thought I'm more likely to steal from the store so he only chose me and TBH I'd rather go back to the days of being followed around the store. At least I'll have my bag with me and you can get whatever you...

MICE AND ALWAYS ROTTEN/SPOILED

It was the night time and I went to checkout. I saw TWO mice running around the register next to me. I bought rice cakes, took a bite and realized it expired ONE MONTH AGO. I have bought meat on multiple occasions that smells sour. I believe they are lying on the labels about the best by dates.

My cake mix has a hole in it. Probably from a mouse.

Red bell pepper smells sour on the inside.

I went to get corn, before putting it in my cart, I took off the leaves and saw brown and green mold.

The pies across from the fish section had A HUGE pit of mold, larger than my first.

I should have learned from the day I saw that mouse. I have no car and this is the biggest supermarket with variety near me. After this week, I will never go back.

It is a shame that you sell people bottom of the barrel food at high prices. They rarely have sales, and if they do TRUST THAT IT IS ROTTEN. What a shame.

I only give two stars because they have a large variety, much larger than the tiny stop and shop...
