Studio 39 Salon — Attraction in Kansas City

i had turned to the ladies of Studio 39 a few months back with a hair DISASTER. i had done my research and found that they had the best reviews and best turn out so thats why i dont understand what happened to me.... i had trusted a girl straight out of college to do my "Galaxy" hair well after she bleached half of it and destroyed the other half is when i went to Studio 39 she reassured me that it would be ok and that they could easily fix the problem.... i showed her what i was hoping for and even told her that if she isint comfortable doing it i had another style in mind she said no that the galaxy looked fun and she knew she could do it..... so a few hours later and $270 later i walk out with BLUE hair with a FEW purple high light and when i say blue i mean it looked like a smurf was on my head blue i was so disappointed and sad that i just paid and left i had called a few times about the situation even left my email address in hopes that they would reach out to me in some way to at least apologize for the inconvenience instead i have gotten NOTHING in reply to the situation i have just now been able to get all that horrible color out of my hair but i will never trust this place again it sucks because all the ladies here are extremely nice and respectful but the lady that did my hair just didnt listen to what i wanted and hurried through it making my life horrible for months because i was walking around with blue hair it even troubled my 4 year old daughter.... made me feel great on not to mention the time off i HAD to take from work because of my hair working customer service for a professional company with blue hair.... yeah so not only did all that happen but i had a leap of absence from work because of it.... DO NOT GO THERE. YOU DO NOT GET ANYTHING CLOSE TO WHAT YOU REQUEST. I went there to have a full balayage to get a lighter hair color. After wasting 6 hours of my time, spending $250 and damaging my hair by bleach, I ended up leaving there with a darker color than what I walked in the morning. I went there to have my hair LIGHTER for summer and I left with dark brown hair which is even darker than my natural hair. I brought lots of sample pictures and specifically asked the stylist what I wanted, she didn't tell me I'm not getting anything close to those pictures, she didn't tell me I'm getting darker color. I was very upset and I cried all weekend because I spent time and money and my hair was damaged and as a result I had darker hair color which it means I have to go through all of these again so maybe some other place can fix my hair. After a few days the owner/manager Gemy Chiarizio called and I requested to either they fix my hair or refund my money because I had to go somewhere else to fix it. She was very very rude, yelling at me and hang up on me after she was done screaming. Even if there is a small chance your hair doesn't get ruined by studio 39, talking and dealing with the owner (Gemy) is a nightmare. I went there based on their good reviews but all of these reviews are fake and were written by their family and friends. I went there twice ( hair cut and balayage) and room 39 was empty in my both visits. In total of 8 hours of my time there I saw maximum 5 other clients. At my original appointment Nicole assessed my hair and rather than cutting it she recommended another service along with a cut to restore my curly hair which required making a different appointment a week later. I was disappointed because I wanted beautiful hair for upcoming business meetings but I decided to follow her recommendations. Glad I did! The following week I got the treatment and cut that instantly restored the majority of my curly hair with instructions and products on how to maintain and perhaps restore the remaining hair. Those of you with curly hair I am telling you Studio 39 with Nicole is the place! She understands curly hair. She has her own protocol she has established for washing and moisturizing the hair and scalp. Her cut technique is amazing. My hair is easy to style and looks great! The right haircut and hair care products are what can make or break the health of your curly hair! Highly recommend Nicole!

Also, Liz is phenomenal with men's hair! Since I was not getting my hair cut at that first appointment I asked Nicole if she wanted to cut my son's hair. She said, "Sure" then went and got Liz whom she said was the best at men's cuts. She was telling the truth. My son, who also has naturally curly hair is very particular about his hair cuts and styles. He also stuggles with social interactions.
