My first experience with Union Hill was when I found a stray puppy that I decided to keep and brought her in for an exam. I was a bit nervous about bringing the puppy in anywhere as she was very malnourished and I've had some experiences with vets where they immediately blame whoever takes the animal in. Thankfully this was not that case at Union Hill. They were so understanding, did and exam, got some medication for her scrapes, supported the decision to get vaccines at KC Spay and Neuter (because cost was an issue) and got the pup set up with a starter kit including shampoo, things to read about caring for a puppy, nail clipping, dewormer, heart worm prevention and so on. The cost for this was just around $100, much cheaper than I expected. I later had an incident with my older dog (16 years old) who was having diarrhea. They met with her and gave me a few options, some medication and a fluid shot to keep her hydrated. They told me if it gets worse to give them a call. It ended up getting a lot worse and became bloody on a Saturday, when they have limited hours. I called and despite not having any openings they were able to squeeze her in, ran some blood tests and kept her over the weekend so she could get better and stay hydrated. I received an update on how she was doing each day she was there and another update when I picked her up. The cost was what they quoted me at and was actually the cheapest option when it came to what we could do for her at that time. Each experience with them has been great and you can tell the people really care about the animals. It has always been cheaper than I expected and much less than some other places I have been. They're very attentive to the animals needs, owners questions and making sure they start with the least serious possible reason for an illness then working their way up if needed instead of worrying you over something that is super serious and unlikely. I also recently learned they provide acupuncture and laser therapy which I may look into for my senior dog in the future as her joints have been...
Read moreThe following is an email I sent on Aug 21 2031: Today's date is Saturday August 21st. I ordered prescription refill for my dog Diesel on August 18th. As of right now at 9:39 Pacific standard Time I have not received my package, even though I paid the extra to have it overnighted. So to resolve this issue I called this morning Saturday morning right after you opened and asked what the deal was. Guess what I got no information and I got no satisfaction! The girl on the phone is nice as she was took no responsibility because she's not the one that's in charge of overnighting things... Hmmm... So containing my frustration I asked her what carrier do you use and could I please have a tracking number, once again complete ignorance and lack of responsibility from your employee. She couldn't even give me the carrier that you use to overnight packages, whether it's United States Post office FedEx or UPS. So in the end your employee and I both agreed to "HOPE" that my order gets here today 3 days after paying for overnight delivery. Meanwhile my dog suffers and if it doesn't get here today, and lo and behold tomorrow is Sunday nobody's in your office I'm sure so it'll be Monday before I can get anything resolved. Look it's one thing for somebody to have made a mistake or a delay in shipping I can understand all that. But when I call your office and I get an employee on the other end that says I don't know I don't know I don't know it's not my responsibility it's not my responsibility let's hope... That's where I have a real problem doing business with you in the future. I'm more than willing to pay the extra 14 cents per dose on my dog's medication to have the peace of mind that it'll be here when it's supposed to be here. And in closing I will say that your employee did state that she really cared and that's why she's working there so there is THAT, I guess...

Read moreI adopted a sweet male kitten earlier this week from KCPP. Unfortunately, he had a leg wound that he kept licking and removing the scab and making it bleed repeatedly. This wound began to leak pus showing sign of infection and I could tell it was causing him a lot of distress and discomfort.
I called the friendly staff at Union Hill Animal Hospital and they were very understanding of my urgency to get him seen and treated so my little guy didn't have to hurt anymore. Thank you so much to Chad and Tracy who were at the front desk and gave me 5-star assistance!
Vanessa was very kind to my kitten Finn and you can tell that she is very good with the animals and clearly cares a lot about their comfort. She was also able to provide me a price quote and helpful information during my visit. She took the time to explain to me visually how to administer his medication and let me know that if I had any questions I could get in touch and they would help me over the phone too.
Dr. Austin called me and also took the time to go over all the information I needed regarding his treatment and other helpful tips that will ensure the best care for my feline friend. I appreciate his knowledge and insight.
Finn does not enjoy his new cone- but it's perfect in discouraging him from reopening and infecting his wound. Also if you look at the bag his medication came in you can see they wrote a heart over the letter "i" in his name which made me smile as it's just such a small detail that shows me the staff here genuinely do care about the animals they treat. The facility was very clean and I enjoyed their decorations as well as how colorful the inside of the building is. You wouldn't think appearance matters but it felt more welcoming of an environment than just a dull white and gray. I highly appreciate the communication from this team and the truly stress free 5-star service I...
