I had been in and out of the ER a few different times during an abusive relationship; not only the ER nurses but also my nurse in oral surgery... they all sensed something wrong. They didn't take my word when I said I felt safe. They knew something was wrong. And they started getting me the special attention I needed. Not just medical, but security, a social worker, a bridge program that works specifically with our local shelters for individuals like me and my family. One day that relationship ultimately landed me a stint in the pin haha I met my first nurse Kathryn (Kath) at 4 am. She made me feel so comfortable and safe and cared for and I was beside myself glad I got an amazing nurse. I was terrified to meet my day time nurse!!! Hahaha. So, I had a couple day/night time nurses through out my stay, but I can honestly say when I met Connie, she took care of me like my mother. I felt so comfortable with her over just a couple days we were sharing pictures of our families. From security, to housekeeping, to Dr's and nurses. Shoot even the Walgreens down stairs! They treated me and my family like their family. God bless you all for saving my life ♡

I shouldn’t have came back after the first time (I will include pictures). The first incident was at the end of September. I was admitted into the hospital for a Sickle Cell crisis. I sat in the er beds for over 7 hours while having a pain crisis. Today i am back for another Sickle Cell crisis and i have been in the er once again for over 7 hours. Im not going to say alot but i will never come back again. I can stay at home in pain in my own bed instead of being here. Will not be back ever again its not worth it. The pictures that are included are from the visit from the end of September. My IV stayed like that for 2 days while I constantly asked if it looked ok. I knew it wasnt normal i been dealing with sickle cell all my life and if my IV looked like that it meant it was blown and needed to be taken out. At the end of the day this will be Trumans last time ever seeing me again. Service is not up to par

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR SAFETY. they do not care about you and are seemingly out to hurt you for insurance money purposes. (quick summary- they “forgot” one of my teeth, i choked on my own blood multiple times and they refused anesthetic and knowingly didn’t numb me completely on one side and ignored my screams of pain.) at my first consultation for my oral surgery, i explained i’ve had many surgeries since childhood that were traumatic and so i’d like to be put under anesthetic (like most people are) and i was told no and laughed at like a child because of a genetic mutation i have when i had 6 surgeries before this and my mutation has NEVER been a problem. the older white doctor talked to me like a child and laughed off every concern i had to the point i had a panic attack in the office and was then told i’m too old to cry and talked to like a child. oh, and the nurse joked about how he used to steal his sisters oxycontin after her wisdom tooth surgery. pretty professional huh? not to mention that everywhere i went the staff was acting loud and obnoxious and extremely unprofessional and openly talking bad about other staff and patients. i was told at the consultation, which my roommate heard, that i would be provided with laughing gas before the routine numbing shots to ease my anxiety that way i wouldn’t be having a panic attack the whole time. then on the day of my surgery i was laughed at and talked to like a child again and straight up got told no. and that if i wanted i could “inhale oxygen to make me feel better” which literally does NOTHING and he was laughing while saying it. mind you this was an extremely invasive and painful procedure for me because my teeth were in my nerve. then i get two different people, man and woman for my surgery. they keep trying to start the surgery while i’m mid panic attack. they also DID NOT numb my face all the way on the right side which i told them multiple times and they blatantly ignored me. i verbally said it many times and then cried and screamed while getting the teeth extracted on that side because i was trying to communicate how badly it hurt and i was ignored. the most i would get is an “okay, kylie.” this was the male doctor. the female doctor repeatedly sprayed water on my face, somehow got tooth on my face and somehow kept getting stuff on my forehead and laughing about it, and at one point i was choking on my own blood and spit and screaming/crying/coughing loudly for about 5 minutes and she refused to suck up any spit or anything and i was ignored yet again. to top it off- they “forgot” my upper left tooth knowing that i lose my health insurance on the first of next month which is only a few days away. these people only care about your money. please find somewhere else to go if you’re fortunate enough to do that. i’m the meantime i will be taking legal action for this. i can’t begin to describe how upset and baffled i am by the situation, and now i’m going to have a tooth i can’t afford...

Formal Complaint Regarding Security Staff Conduct To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing to you with a profoundly heavy heart to formally express my distress regarding the treatment I have received from one of your security personnel at the Holmes location, next to Children’s Mercy. What should have been a routine visit to pick up medication for my family turned into a deeply hurtful and humiliating experience that I cannot, in good conscience, remain silent about.

Details of the Incident The individual in question is Ms. Sampson, an African American woman who is often stationed at the main entrance of the hospital. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have been subjected to what I can only describe as unfair and discriminatory behavior from her. However, today’s incident has left an indelible mark not just on me, but also on my young son, who was witness to the event.

I was at your facility solely to pick up medicine from Walgreens.

Without cause or evidence, Ms. Sampson accused me, in front of my seven-year-old son and other bystanders, of entering the cafeteria to steal food.

This baseless and embarrassing accusation, especially in front of my child, has not only caused me significant emotional distress but has shaken my trust in the security and ethical standards of your establishment.

Ongoing Pattern of Behavior This is not an isolated incident. On several previous occasions, I have felt targeted and treated with unwarranted suspicion and disrespect by Ms. Sampson. I have done nothing to warrant such treatment, and I believe there may be deeper issues at play regarding how certain individuals are approached and handled at your facility.

My Request I implore you to:

Thoroughly investigate the conduct of Ms. Sampson and any patterns of discriminatory or unprofessional behavior associated with her role.

Address the code of ethics with your staff to ensure respectful, fair treatment of every visitor, regardless of race or background.

Provide written feedback and outline the steps your organization will take to address this matter.

Implement prompt and meaningful disciplinary action if this complaint is substantiated.

I will continue to seek answers and accountability until I am confident that no one else will endure what my son and I experienced today. I trust you will treat this matter with the seriousness and urgency it deserves.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely, A deeply heartbroken and...

We are at the gastroenterology or GI clinic at the Holmes location and my fiancé's appointment was for 10:30 am. We were told to be here by 10am, as responsible adults we showed up a little earlier than that at 9:45 am. We were afraid there might be construction or traffic, anyway... It is now 11:33 am and she still has not been called back. This is a procedure she couldn't eat before so she hasn't had anything to eat since Saturday night. Meaning all of Sunday, all of Monday and now into Tuesday has had nothing to eat. Why did they tell us to be here thirty minutes early when clearly they can be over an hour late to even call her back. The lady's at the front desk are discussing what they want to do for lunch as if these patients haven't been starving, one of the lady's at the desk is quite rude to anyone who doesn't speak English and nobody behind the desk seems to know anything about hippa.... Would not recommend at all. Find you a better GI clinic because you deserve better than what they will give you here. Update... The lady behind the desk went and got her lunch and is sitting at the desk eating it in front of these people who can't eat. I find that to be a little insensitive.... Also we were told fifteen more minutes( as if the hour and fifteen minutes we've been waiting wasn't long enough) and that time as come and passed....update... They just called her back at noon... An hour and a half after her scheduled appointment time....very disappointed in the treatment of all patients in the waiting room and the utter lack of compassion and communication towards the...
