I should start by saying I myself am a former Home Depot associate. I worked on the Pro Desk, Paint Department, Appliances and always treated my retail customers with the same respect and level of customer service I treated my commercial customers. The customer service I received from this store today was simply deplorable. I came in to purchase a lumber delivery for my daughters playset. I had the whole list of what I needed and just needed an associate to key it. I made sure to go by the Pro Desk before getting my fasteners just to let them know of my intentions and to make sure someone could key the order. I was told that would not be an issue. He was already helping another customer with an issue so I wanted to be respectful. When I came back with my fasteners to place my order the Pro Desk associate saw me standing at the desk and proceeded to walk out of the building, get into his car, and drive off. If that was not bad enough the cashier Linda, who clearly does not like her job and just wants a pay check, made things much worse. I tried to talk with the manager on duty but he/she would not assist. The manager on duty told Linda by phone for me to go to the customer service desk, again me being a previous associate, knows they cannot key a lumber order. I did go to the customer service desk as instructed and asked them to key the order. As I anticipated they could not do it and wanted me to go back to the Pro Desk. I will not detail that piece of the ridiculous conversation. Bottom line I did get the corporate Customer Care customer phone number and for the first time used it as a consumer. I told Customer Care what had happened and I would never set foot back in store 3663 again. Customer Care appreciated the feedback especially since I was a former associate. I'm sure there are other associates in that store that pride themselves on customer service. Unfortunately it takes a few bad apples to ruin a bunch. Maybe the store manager will read this and feel embarrassed this even happened in their store. Odds are he/she won't and probably does not care. I had a couple of store managers that felt that way while employed with the company. If just one person reads this review and decides to go down the road to Lowes or Tractor Supply, then all this wasted time will be worth it! Yes, I am aware they have...
Read moreFor nearly 50 years we have used the offerings of Home Depots service, supplies and advice needed for our fixer upper and various new builds In Illinois, the Upper Peninsula and current in North Carolina. Here we have used the stores located in Garner and Knightdale. All was well until we purchased some appliances and was offered a discount on the purchase if we acquired their credit card. It offered a $100 gift card which came after the due date and was actually a varied gift card, that being a $25 gift card, or a $50 gift card or a $100 gift card depending on the value of your purchased cost. Besides this misrepresentation, while we waited for payment notification we incurred a late payment notice when no notice was ever sent. Contacting the credit department we had this late fee removed and we were told that additional payments needed to be made on line, and they blamed the store employee for misstating the manner of used of the credit card. Our purchase is done as we now wait for delivery.
Of delivery, we made a purchase in February and was advised that itâs delivery was to be the first of March. The delay as others have been associated with this ongoing pandemic. Of the delivery date, we gave instructions and waited. As we waited, we saw the delivery truck pass our subdivision to then get a call that he missed the turn. When told to just turn around, we received a follow up call that the truck was on our street but could not locate our address. A text message was received from the delivery service stating that if delivery was not made within 10 minutes the driver was directed to precede to his next stop. A second delivery date was made to were only received one of the two items purchased and was advised that they could not find this other purchase.
We were later informed that our appliance was damaged as we would be contacted by the manufacture for its replacement now scheduled for the first week in April.
If you are considering using Home Depotâs credit card and service you have...
Read moreI was in the store about 8:30 PM in Saturday to purchase a refrigerator. The store was not busy. There was one associate in the entire appliance / kitchen cabinet section and she was busy with a couple that were having some sort of problem.
I heard the associate say, "We're aware of the problem and have let corporate know."
The customers wanted to speak with the store manager. The conference between the couple, the manager, and the sales associate took place at the end of the row if refrigerators where I opening and closing the models on display.
Having made up my mind on which $1,000+ unit shell out my hard-earned money, I patiently waited some, 10 minutes, at what I thought was a discreet distance to not be intrusive, yet close enough for it to be obvious, I need some assistance.
When the conference with the couple concluded, the sales associate walked with the couple to computer terminal to finish their transaction. The manager approached another customer that just walked up.
The manager and this new customer walked away to another portion of the store. As the manager passed me standing in aisle with the refrigerators, he said, "Excuse me."
I walked up to the sales associate and interrupted her and the couple asking, if that was the store manager.
When she said it was, l told her that l had come into the store to buy a refrigerator, that I walking out of the store.
The only unique thing Home Depot has to offer is customer service. Lowe's is just up the street and Best Buy is across the parking lot. That goes for any retail store.
Home Depot has dropped off my "go-to...
