This place is price gun happy. Way way overpriced recently. They think by looking on eBay is a way of pricing items. Wrong Wrong. EBay is only a haven of items people are buying and reselling, Duh from Goodwill. So my opion to everyone is that you should buy items similar from eBay for cheaper and usually will have a money back guarantee. People online have already tested and cleaned there items prior to sale is what I found out and back there items up. Goodwill will only give store credit to purchase more overpriced items and does not guarantee there merchandise. Read my Rancho Mirage review. There is one lady here at this location always thinking t-shirts with side sems are considered regular shirts and loves charging customers $5.49 and up when they should be only $2.00. Also what's with the constant price checking and taking the items back in the warehouse to reprice something for more than what's was originally tagged and on the floor. I have observed this practice over and over at this location. See if you notice it as well. All I hear over the intercom is PRICE CHECK PRICE CHECK. Goodwill must remember they are a thrift store and not a retail outlet like ROSS, MARSHALLS, or Target and stop comparing you broken and worn...
Read moreThis is not about the Store portion of the operation, it is about the donation side of the business.
This has been one of the least friendly donation centers I have experienced. We have always felt that donation was a good way to help the people serviced by Goodwill. They are training in job skills and it is a good thing to have a place to work and learn at the same time.
This center strikes me as a little less accommodating than the other locations we have gone to. It always feels like we are interrupting things when we go there. During this time, the COVID era they are very restricted in what they can take, and unless you go first thing in the morning, you may well not be able to leave anything, they only have two small areas that you can donate to, and when they are full they do not take more.
I get that it is important to be careful in this time. But how about a "sorry, we can not take any more today, I suggest you come back early in the day, thanks for thinking of us" as opposed to "not taking anything now" from behind a locked door? ...
Read moreWish I could give zero stars. DO NOT donate your items here. The Donation Center at the La Quinta store is absolutely pathetic. My first encounter was about two months ago. I was greeted at the Donation door by an employee YELLING, and I do mean yelling at me, "WE ARE NO LONGER TAKING DONATIONS" and she slammed the door in my face. I should have known not to return then. But, some things have come up, and I had a pile of men's dress pants and sweaters to donate today. A masked employee had the Donation door open, so I assumed he was taking donations today. I walked up with my stack of clothes and he mumbled something to me. I apologized that I could not understand him and asked where he needed me to set the clothes I had. He audibly scoffed, rolled his eyes and TOOK the clothes out of my arms and THREW them on the ground. Needless to say, I will never donate to Goodwill again. I will find a company who has employees that know how to treat customers and are grateful for donations. Management needs to get a grip on...
