This is a local staple as far as parks/beaches go. The park has 2 separate beaches which both have swing sets and jungle gyms along with other fun amusements for the little ones, a track that people can run/walk, a soccer field and 2 baseball fields where our local youth play their games.The view of lake opeechee is beautiful and the grounds are maintained well. With all that said, opeechee cove ( the first beach visible upon entering the park) has had a handful of E.coli cases in its water as recent as this year. This is probably due to the large numbers of geese and duck that populate that part of the park. However the parks and rec department seem to be actively involved in monitoring this to ensure the water is safe for the visitors. Read moreThe playground areas are ok. I'm not sure about restrooms since they are hardly ever open when I have been. There are 2 beach areas here. Both areas have playground areas as well as benches and picnic tables. One beach is by the main parking lot, you can see it from north main street. Not alot of people swim in that area due to the geese and ducks that claim the cove as home. It is definitely an issue later in the s3ason as the lake warms up. My family and I moved back to NH after a career in the military and this was the first park I was ever able to take my children, to teach them to skate and play hockey. We have been back multiple times this winter and hope for many more before the ice melts. The ice rinks are too often vacant.
