Great experience! The staff is really friendly and fun. They do a great job explaining safety before you head out and making sure your fit into your bike. The bikes are easy to ride. Just remember you are riding a bike so it is a workout but relaxing and you can set your own pace; we never felt pressure to go faster or slower. The ride also has amazing scenery and a beautiful rest stop at the turnaround. They also offer cup holders for your water and a basket in front to hold your personal items. Most of the ride is in the shade but there is some sun (we went mid-September) so remember your sunblock and insect repellent. My friends and I had a great time and I highly recommend this company. Editing as I saw another review by Linda. We (3 women) loved the fact that a guide joined us on our return trip. They also offered to ride with the group of 3 males in front of us. Not only did it make the ride easier; it made it more fun and interesting having a personal guide giving us information on the area. Definitely New Hampshire friendliness...

Really fun activity! Beautiful area to peddle along the lake. Didn't realize that, while you have your own 4 person rail bike, you are in a group of several bike cars. So how close they each are to you (and vice versa) depends on how fast/slow each peddles. Tho the staff do try to spread you out at one point. We were slow, so the 2nd group was on us quickly, and it didn't feel as serene as I was hoping. Also we were disappointed, that for the price, we didn't feel like we went very far (like less than 30 min peddle one way after crossing all the initial roads-again going slow). Definitely more worth it if you can fill all the seats, price-wise at least. Unfortunately we also got swarmed by bees (only stung once), that the earlier group had gotten attacked by, and in all fairness, the staff was on it best they could. Staff was incredibly funny and kind and...

It is not really impressive or worth the money....The people are very nice, they tell you to show up 20 to 30 minutes beforehand which is a bit excessive, you just need to fill out a quick waiver form that takes about 2 minutes. They have a minor explanation of how to use the bikes and off you go in a group with whoever else signed up for that time. You stay a bit apart but if people in front of you are peddling slower you will catch up to them and be stuck it their speed. Once you get to the point to turn around, you can go swimming while they turn the bikes the opposite way. You rent by the bike whether it is for two people or for four people and the cost is...

Granite State Rail Bikes was such a fantastic experience! The ride was peaceful, scenic, and gave us a chance to enjoy the outdoors in a really unique way. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use, and the views along the route were beautiful. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made sure we felt safe and prepared before heading out. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun activity to do with family or friends!

We were in town for a concert and were looking for a fun little daytime activity and this fit the bill. We went at 10am while the weather was cooler and the sun wasn't as high. It was just the two of us on the rail car, so we had to put in some effort to get the car going and keep it trucking along. The trip is a long the lake with tall trees on each side. It was really beautiful. The staff was helpful and encouraging.
