Went last night for dinner with my wife and we were both a little disappointed for the first time ever. From the time we sat down we felt rushed by our server. She took our drink order and mine was delivered and my wifes wasnt ready. It sat at the barnfor about 10 minutes before she brought it to us because she was too busy eating something. The hostess walked by the drink twice and never brought it to us. Finally she went and told the server that it was ready. Our oysters were delicious but she wanted.us to order our entrees and we weren't ready. She then told us they had a big party coming in which is why she was probably rushing us. We ordered a bottle of wine which was great and split 2 appetizers. The mushroom ravioli were over cooked and hard, the sauce with them wasnt great and the mushrooms were mushy and appeared to be canned. The fig and prosciutto flatbread was very good. Needless to say we were not impressed last night. Oh and the large party still hadn't shown up by the...
Read moreI think overall our group had good food and amazing service. However me and another person got the Crispy Pork Belly Asian Stir-Fry and the pork belly was not crispy or tender at all. The noodles were great and Stir-Fry was tasty, but the pork belly was super tough (my friend ate 3 out of the 6 pieces) and I had to cut it into tiny pieces to even be edible. I made the mistake of eating a whole piece as my first bite and had to chew it 1-2 min before being able to swallow it. The pork belly was also not crispy whatsoever unfortunately which means it never was finished under high heat.
Otherwise the drinks, service, and other menu items were great. I would like the kitchen to know this feedback so that it can improve service in the future. Everyone can have an off night so not big deal there. The pork belly needs to be cooked (roasted or boiled) longer as it was too tough as is and then finished under the broiler or fried...
Read moreI'm in the middle of the road with Laconia Local Eatery. We dropped in late one evening recently for a bite to eat. They were kind but super busy. The team were all visually annoyed by yet another table to take care of that evening. They didn't say it but you could feel the energy change the minute we walked in and were seated. The table was right by the door and it was cold out... they can't control the layout of their restaurant necessarily but I personally cannot stand to sit next to a door that opens repeatedly in the cold.
Waters came to the table and menus were provided. The bar was limited. We were immediately advised that we were on a time limit and needed to be ready sooner-rather-than later. They were politely rude.
Prices were high. Selection was limited. It just wasn't the right place at the right time. We dismissed ourselves and found another establishment and ended up very much so enjoying...
