Burrito Me — Restaurant in Laconia

We've been here three times in the last 14 or so months. The first time (January 2022) we just got takeout & were impressed by the flavors & quality. They did forget our "we paid extra for these" toppings but we were like "well maybe it's an 'off' day, whatever". The next time (August 2022) we ordered there, & ate there, so it wasn't a huge deal when they forgot our sides & our "we paid extra for these" toppings. We ordered online & ate there again recently (March 2023). Despite the fact that it's counter service we always tip because, to us, it's the right thing to do, so yeah, we anticipate the food order will be correct. (Shame on us, I guess.) They forgot the toppings for my taco, which I didn't realize until after eating the first one, & we'd already had to remind them about our sides, so I just said "forget it". (It was guacamole that was supposed to be on my tacos, but we'd also ordered a side of it & it wasn't very good anyway so we didn't bring it up.) The limes were old & had zero juice. The guac needed lime, cilantro, & salt; at the price, for the quantity (2-3 tbsps) it should be phenomenal - it's not. The veggies are really flavorful & are always cooked well. And we enjoy their hottest hot sauce (the habanero one). That accounts for maybe 30% of the food we order, not really worth putting up with the other 70% "blah" plus the missing sides & "we paid extra for these" toppings to-boot. This was our third time going here and will be our last! The first time was just ok and the second time was better and service had improved so we decided to give it another chance. However, this experience was awful! Dining area was dirty and tables hadn't been cleaned, floors were grimey. Bathrooms were disgusting and only one even had soap. Makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen 🤔 Service was just ok and not super friendly. There was a man yelling loudly from the kitchen area and music blaring from the back. The entire atmosphere just seemed unprofessional. When I went to pickup my order the man that said he was the manager was walking around eating a burrito while working. I had ordered a veggie BIG Burrito and regular burrito. They were both much smaller than advertised and the ingredients were awful, mushy veggies, barely any beans and rice. I expect higher quality for a $9 and $11 burrito, very disappointing and the worst burrito I've ever had! We decided to sit outside since they told us they would be closing in an hour. The "manager" was outside talking and swearing inappropriately around customers. Such a disappointing experience that you would expect maybe at a Taco Bell. This place needs a complete overhaul! This place was nasty. The hostess was scarfing down food as we walked in, talking with her mouth open. My husband asked for a Modelo several times and she had no idea what he was talking about, so he pointed to the beer and she tried grabbing a hard seltzer, so he had to point at it again. We ordered two tacos each: two pork and two chicken, along with chips and salsa. We waited half an hour despite being the only ones there. I could see the people working in the kitchen were a group of young women who all looked to be highschool aged. None of them were wearing hair nets. Their hair was tied back, but not tightly. They all had long hair tied up loosely. I could also see one of them scratch her face with an ungloved hand and then continue to use that hand in food prep. Our food came out totally wrong. 3 tacos and no chips. They served us cold, chewy steak tacos which were cooked very well-done. I told them that we had ordered 4 tacos and chips, and the hostess, who was still chewing food while talking, apologized and quickly brought out some warm tacos. The atmosphere is everything you expect of a taco place in the northern US I guess: a portrait of a deer and they were playing country music. This place was laughably bad....
