I was first at the theater when I was 12 years old to watch the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, great movie and the theater at the time was a typical sticky floor, popcorn scented just this side of a dive and that I exactly what is to be expected, meaning thus was a good thing and you new where you were and what you were doing there. I had seen other movies there until they closed and it was always the same. For a twelve year old with only friends and no parents, it was awesome!! Fast forward 32 years (damn I'm old!) Walking into the theater wasn't so much as a step back to when I was pre-teen but rather a step back in time to the grandeur that I'm told the theater once had. It was the kind of place you wanted to say you had a hand in making or building or just creating it in small way. Light and airy as the performance for the evening was a comedy show, however when you entered the actual theater and take in the feels and the vibe you knew it was special and you wanted to plan your return before you left. If you get the chance, just do it, you...
Read moreDisappointing experience at the theater for the Bob Marley show last night. I think the act was good, but couldn’t focus because our Right Balcony, Row DD seats were like we were in a freezing wind tunnel. Everyone in that section was complaining how uncomfortably cold they were as there was a huge vent above us blowing the cold air down. We told the usher about it and she said she would see if she could do anything about it. 45 minutes into the show and no difference. I finally got up and complained to a director downstairs and she tuned the air off. We had out of town guests with us and I was so embarrassed they had to experience this. Advice: don’t buy tickets in those balcony sections and go directly to management to get a problem corrected. The ushers can’t leave their “post” and they obviously don’t have a method of communication...
Read moreWe saw Celtic Thunder. Staff was very helpful even when we showed up early. The bathrooms had enough stalls in the women's bathroom to get us all through in a 20 minute intermission! I was so impressed with the flow and how easy it was to get to our seats. Only draw back is the concessions and place to purchase merchandise was along the hall to get into the venue/ seating area causing a bit of a back up if you were on that side of the hall. A roped area saying line for merchandise at each would have solved that. It would have been nice to have the merchandise area be able to sell merchandise a few minutes before 6:30 pm. We all were a captive audience while waiting. I feel it was a missed opportunity to make more sales for Celtic Thunder. Great...
