Samuel Donian Wetland Preserve — Attraction in Lake Geneva

A beautiful place for families, couples, or just to walk through. Not sure how grilling is positive for a nature preserve, but apparently it's positive for tourism, and that's what matters, right? There could be better sidewalk lighting at night--maybe solar path lights. And some sort of handicapped accessibility is necessary, from the sidewalk on the wooden walkway--seating area nearer the water that only has stairs. That is also cleared of snow...

We love walking through this area. It has a nice wheelchair accessible sidewalk on the high ground and no walkway down by the water. Even though downtown Lake Geneva can be fairly packed during tourist season, this area is right off Main Street and stays relatively quiet. There are park grills and the water is fairly shallow. Came here for a Mother's Day picnic, and it was wonderful. Our boys were able to walk through the shallow parts of the river to cool down. There was a live band playing on the patio of a nearby bar (MagPies) Other families were cooking out on the stationary grills. Great place for family get togethers....
