Let me start by saying that if I could give this place negative 5 stars that would still be to good for this place. This was my first time here in Lake Geneva and this place was actually one that I wrote down on my to try out list. The fact that it was opened until 2 in the morning was a good thing. As soon as we stepped inside there was no friendly face to greet you. We tried to pick the cleanest table to sit at because they all needed to be wiped down. The gentleman behind the bar never greeted us he just looked at us until we said HELLO to him. We asked if he could clean our table for us it took him a whole 5 minutes to come and do that. Now from what I saw it wasn't that many people in there it was a Tuesday night so it was pretty empty. With that being said the tables should have been cleaned. But even as he wipes down the table he never said anything to us about the food or drink menus. I'm an out of towner i dont know what this establishment has, why do I have to ask all these questions just to find out that you have nothing to offer me. If we were greeted properly in the first place and told all the necessary information then all the extra questions would not have needed to be asked. He never told us that we wouldn't be able to get food because the fryers were down until after we asked him if we could see the menus. Never offered us any drinks or anything. We ended up just leaving. I was definitely upset when I left here. I HATE terrible customer service. My first experience in this town was horrible. I would never come back to this place and I will never recommend it to anyone. This place was a waste of my...
Read moreOn our trip to lake Geneva, me and my boyfriend decided to go to champs! We have been there multiple times and love it! When we arrived at the restaurant there was a “security guard” and he asked us for ID before we could walk through the door. We told him that we were 17 and questioned why we had to give an ID (we could clearly see families with kids sitting at tables inside.) After being turned away we decided to call the restaurant and ask if we have to be 21 to eat at a table; they said no! We gave the “security guard” a break and assumed there was a miscommunication! So we went back and asked if we need to be 21 to sit at a table and order food. He said yes and refused to let us in the restaurant. Finally, the security guard asked another staff member and they let us in. However the man nagged us about how if we plan to sit at the bar or order drinks (we expressed we are 17 and just want food!!) We went to sit outside where it took a long time to be waited on, then we were informed that there was a limited menu and they were only accepting cash payments! We saw our server texting on her phone a few minutes after we ordered waters so we decided to leave and find another restaurant! This isn’t a big deal and we completely understand these circumstances, but we didn’t want to spend our money at a place where we were treated rudely :) I hate to complain because I love champs, but I just wanted to share our experience so hopefully no other paying costumers get turned away...
Read moreWe went in for lunch on a Saturday. The food was decent, but nothing really stood out. The Cajun Turkey burger was pretty bland, the quesadillas seemed pretty small for what they cost, the gyro looked very run of the mill, and the chicken wrap was mostly lettuce. The only sandwich that stood out in our group was the cheesesteak. It looked pretty darn good. Also, all sandwiches are a la cart. My 1/3# turkey burger was $12.95 for just the burger. Any side is extra. The sweet potato fries were good and crunchy, which was nice since many places serve them soggy. The garlic butter parmesan fries were just fries with a ladle of butter dumped on the center and a pile of parmesan on the top. We had to stir up the fries to try to get them coated. All of the service was super friendly, but they seemed understaffed out front. Once we were able to order, the food did come out quickly. The atmosphere is fun. They did a good job of combining a nautical theme with a sports bar feel. Overall, I would definitely go back to the bar since the service is the biggest factor in my book, and we had friendly service that day. However, I will most likely try a different place for food next time. Even though the food was decent, it felt lacking for the price. Then again, it's a sports bar in a tourist town . . . I'm probably...
