So our start was the foreshadow of the rest of our visit. Place had great reviews so seemed the obvious place to go. Walked in and the place was half full. Wife and I had our masks on as covid still going on. Waitress said to sit wherever we liked. So we sat towards the front. Shortly thereafter, seen the waitress help another table, grab our menus but then gave them to another couple. Then proceeded to do drink refills for another table... then another table... we were actually thinking about leaving before we finally got the menus. We order the Portabella Steak appetizer which was actually pretty good and the highlight of the visit. My wife ordered The Cheesehead (basic cheeseburger) and I ordered The Roosevelt (western style bison burger). We tend to cut our sandwiches in half to eat them easier and when my knife came back pretty red I made sure my wife checked hers. The center of her burger was raw.. not rare but raw. Mine was much more red than I care for but being bison I let it go, but we sent hers back. They refired her order but still still was underdone. We thought about sending it back a second time but by then she was so hungry she just ate the better parts. When the waitress finally asked about it, she finally asked how she likes her burgers done.... By the time we were ready to go there wasn't really a tip left. The tip percentage is directly tied to the service (or lack off) received. Like having to wave her away from her friends? We ended up leaving almost feeling like we intentionally got worse service because we walked in the door wearing masks. *shrug*

Arrived at 545. Went in and sat down at the empty table. Was asked if we were on the wait list. I said what wait list. There was no wait staff at the entrance. Then I had to ask how to get on the wait list. Was told 25 30 min wait. 40 mins later we received the call. At the table it took 5 or more mins to get someone to bring us menus. This is now at 630. We ordered our food and drinks. And finally received that at 710. The bacon was Rock hard on the way over cooked dry burger. No flavor My daughters grilled cheese was not grilled. I’m guessing they tossed the bread on the dirty flat top for a few seconds and then when they put it on the plate they tossed a slice of cheese on it. The fries were small extremely Crispy and almost not edible. Very easily noticed was the cheese curds breading station. You can see the flour on the floor and a cheese curd. Behind the curtain you see the pan of flower. Above the grill is a very dirty fan blowing straight down. Also noticed is a cord to one of the beer signs on the wall, caked with dust. I will not be back. I’ve been dying to try this place for over a year now. Came 2 weeks ago Sunday at 4. They said they were closing early…. There page said 9. Came the following Sunday they said the grill was down. I’ve had so many people brag about this place. I’m not sure why. I’m a local of 35 years. I avoid the city become f the tourist. My guess is that’s the only reason this place survived. 11 years in the hospitality industry. I love food and people.

Big 8oz burgers! In town for my husbands work venue and went out for lunch while he was golfing. Nice little bar. Alternative music playing. Sports on TV’s. Not a beer drinker so I can’t tell you anything about that. Several on tap it looks like! They have bison and lamb on the menu as well as the grass fed beef burgers. I had fries with mine. They are tiny straw type fries but really well seasoned. I chose the WisconSinner. Oh my! The cheese curds on this burger were mouth watering. Bacon was super thick. Onion strings were just right. And you can’t go wrong with a pretzel bun! First burger in a long time that I didn’t put ketchup on. Anyone who knows me, knows I love ketchup on my burgers! I like the menu has some nice selections that aren’t the typical American burger choices. I couldn’t finish it all and took the rest with me. Staff was friendly and attentive. Madeline was my waitress. Went on a rainy Tuesday around 2 and the place was half full. Seating is limited for the small bar. But there is outdoor seating as well. Parking all around the area is paid meter parking. It is in walking distance from many of the hotels along the lake in downtown Geneva. Saw all ages coming and going while I was here. Locals and visitors. Will come back again if ever passing through here. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but give it a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed!

The food was only slightly above average, especially considering the pricing. I get that the locally sourced ingredients can incur more expenses, but in the end I care most about the taste- and it's been fairly typical pub food in my two visits. The home made fries were a welcome idea, but were mostly burnt. The grilled cheese sandwich I had featured some tasty tomatoes, but was otherwise unnecessarily greasy and a bit bland overall. I would have liked it better with an authentic smoked gouda for the to give it some flavor depth. A touch of garlic would have also added some life to it.

The atmosphere is trendy and new, tables and some of the wall art is unique to look at. It kind of has a antique/industrial feel to it, like many of the recently renovated microbrew places down in Chicago's wrigleyville- and similar to Lake Genevas' Oakfire on the lake. It does seem like a shame that they ripped out all of the ACTUALLY old bar from the old Chicago Pizza Co. that used to occupy the property- just to put in new stuff made to LOOK old. That beautiful old bar and wood floor would have blended nicely with the new industrial themed additions and would have resulted in a warmer feel in my opinion. The bathrooms are newly renovated from the old building and are now quite spacious.

OWNERS- if you read this- replace those oddly small metal stools ASAP! Those were only slightly more comfortable than sitting on a 5 gallon bucket. I seriously will walk back out if next time I go in there that is the only seating available. If you have to go with a small stool because of space constraints (thats my guess), go with a backless stool so average sized people could actually sit MOSTLY on the seat surface.

I may be back in the future, but probably not for the food- they boast over 100 beers! That is their unique attribute at this time that I didnt know about prior to visiting.

Make the pricing 15% more reasonable for pub food, replace those awful stools (yes, they are that bad), and it would be more likely to be be on my rotation of...

My wife and I entered here today shortly after 3p, expecting it to not be busy. A large party had just been seated out on the patio and we attempted to sit inside. We stood awkwardly in the entryway while several members of the outdoor party went back and forth to the bar multiple times, leaving with several pitchers and individual drinks. There was no host so I asked the bar if it was "seat yourself". I was directed to a table near the door, and again became agitated by the folks on the patio making several trips back and forth. We asked for our table to be moved to the back when the gentleman bussing tables came to wipe down the table next to us, and saw we didnt have menus, after having been seated there for about 5 minutes. We moved to the back of the restaurant and waited another 10 minutes without being greeted in any way by staff, while watching the party outside again make several trips to the bar and receive immediate service. After filling several pitchers for the table outside, bar staff came to deliver food to and check on the tables near us, but still did not offer any acknowledgment at all. We left after waiting nearly 20 minutes after being seated without any attempt at service from staff. My wife currently is working in and I have worked in the service industry and we both understand that managing an unexpected large party with seemingly excessive requests can be demanding. However, it doesn't excuse you from ignoring the remainder of your guests, especially when attending to tables directly adjacent. To be clear, we are not expecting or demanding immediate service, however a simple greeting of "hi I'll be with you as soon as I can" goes a long way to ensure we know that someone has acknowledged us and ensure that we know we will be eventually be...

Service is extremely poor at best. Please read the following. Was interested in trying out their burgers, menu seemed great. The place didn’t have a take out option, therefore went to the location. The hostess greeted us and offered a seat inside. When asked if they have a take out option, she didn’t seem to know the answer and told me to ask the manager. The manager, said no to take out; dine in only. We asked the hostess to sit outside, she said it would be a few mins before the table would be cleared. We went outside and waited for the table to be cleared. A couple finished their meal and left, we sat down and waited for the hostess to clear the table. The table had glasses full of water and three meals with half of their food still in them. The hostess cleared the plates and then dumped the water in front of us on the side walk. The water splashed on my feet and left the lemon rind where the water was dumped. No apology from her, she went on with her business. Given this experience, we walked off and will never return again. The attitude and customer service of the employee was unprofessional and plain rude. Given this pandemic, wouldn’t you want to have someone clean the table with a disinfectant before another guest sits down, would you want to be a bit friendlier to customers who are coming back after lockdown period?! I hope this place gets their ducks in a row if not the state should look into their disinfecting policy in time of the pandemic. The owner should look into training people on proper customer service or hiring individuals with a bit more care for...
