My mom and sister came into town yesterday for my mom's birthday. We decided on Lake City Social because it is a newly refreshed local restaurant, which is important to us, because we own 2 businesses in the downtown LG area. When we first walked in, we asked if we could eat outside and put an umbrella up, we were told no due to wind and that we would have to be seated at two different tables because they couldn't push tables together. We opted for inside, however, when we were walked to our table, which shared a window with the deck, every umbrella was up and there were 2 parties that had pushed tables together. We ordered cheese curds for the table, which were tasty and came with two types of dipping sauces that were really good. Unfortunately, that is where my compliments end. My two kids ordered the Mac & Cheese, which likely could be the smallest portion I have ever seen on a kids menu. My sister ordered a chicken sandwich that was mediocre. My mom ordered a prime rib sandwich that she only ate half of that came with some sort of "house slaw" that had almost zero dressing and and definitely no flavor. The slaw had shaved Brussel sprouts, and some other extremely earthy, woody leafed greens. It could have been phenomenal, had it been dressed with the right kind of dressing. It was actually not edible. For what I paid for lunch, we could have literally gone anywhere else in the area and had better food. Since they have only been open for maybe a month since the refresh, maybe they are still trying to iron out some details, at least I hope that is the reasoning. I have to be honest, I went in with such high hopes, but left feeling...
Read moreExcellent top quality food whatever way you want it. From fine dining to casual anytime of day! I don’t know how we missed this place all these years but I’m glad we found it hiding in plain sight right in front of the Cove Hotel.
While all the other places are packed, long wait times and rush you, Lake City Social is calm, quiet, spacious and enjoyable. All the food on the plates coming out to tables looked really good and were all generously portioned. We have a few pics for next time. Our server Lisa E. was so friendly and did a phenomenal job of making sure our order was correct, checked on us often and really did a great job. Excellent service! Appetizer: 1# Chicken wings - crispy outside, tender and sauced appropriately. Many sauces to choose from! The Nashville hot was a little hot and nice smoky taste. The Asian ginger was an exotic slightly sweet sauce with fresh cilantro garnish. Other sauce choices they have: bbq, buffalo, garlic parmesan, teriyaki & Jamaican jerk
Entree: We ordered the Prime rib 14oz dinner (only served Wed&Sat after 4pm). Excellent prime cuts! Side salad is served in a chilled plate with poppyseed dressing. The Shrimp & corn chowder was creamy with nice flecks of vegetables. Sweet potato tots was a unique option vs the loaded baked potato. The Prime rib was amazing, cooked to perfection, generously portioned and best one we’ve had in a while. I’d definitely come back for this and everything else!
This place has it all; Indoor & outdoor seating, full bar area with TV’s, banquet accommodations, huge dining area, daily specials, parking and a 2 minute walk from the...

We had a really great experience at Lake City Social in Lake Geneva!
My husband ordered the Bacon Slab Burger and gave it a solid 4 out of 5 — he especially liked the thick-cut bacon, which really elevated the burger. Our youngest had the Classic Cheeseburger with American cheese and upgraded to the pretzel bun — she rated it a perfect 5 out of 5! My eldest ordered the Ciabatta Chicken Sandwich and enjoyed it even more after adding some of the bacon jam from the burger — a fun little twist that really worked.
I had the Prime Rib Sandwich and absolutely loved it — flavorful, juicy, and just really well done. All of the sides were hits: the Sweet Potato Tots, Regular Fries, and Greek Cold Salad were fresh and tasty. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals from start to finish.
Service was friendly and attentive, and while I wasn’t sure about the vibe at first, the atmosphere really grew on me — casual, cute, and inviting. The restaurant is connected to The Cove Resort, which makes it super convenient if you’re staying there. Plus, there’s a free parking lot, which is always a win in Lake Geneva.
Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back next time...
