My family and I stopped by during a day trip to Lincoln this past summer and enjoyed ourselves visiting the galleries telling the stories of our part of the country. We enjoyed the exhibit showcasing women artists capturing the Great Plains from their viewpoint and experiences. They have a great collection and the gallery docents are very helpful and knowledgable. Make sure you plan a visit when in Lincoln!

What a gem of a gallery! I'd never been there before and was so impressed by the artwork displayed! Two prairie chickens made entirely of cut pieces of paper and amazing paintings & poems in the basement (Art & Poetry of the Barada Hills) we're my favorites! Worth going!

This was smaller than I imagined, but it was very interesting and well laid out. My favorite part was the pottery. It's free to walk thru. It was well worth my 45 mins going thru it. There are some pretty amazing looking pieces they have their.

Located in downtown, I was surprised to see that there were no reviews. So I figured I would pop in and see why. And to tell you, I don't know why. This is a small but interesting art collection and is well worth at least an hour of art appreciation. Some excellent American artists on display here including Frederic Remington (I've seen his sculptures in many places, including Bismarck and Salt Lake City), John Falter, Albert Bierstadt and Edwin Deming. The display of stereoscopes was super cool and having a device there to actually look through...

We attended a special symposium last week "Epic Neihardt". The staff was welcoming and helpful. The Art Museum is lovely and easy to navigate. The layout (bathroom in the basement level) worked well for this event. Take a tour on your lunch break if you work downtown or on campus. Some great visual art (Sculpture) greets you upon arrival the entrance is on the east side of Hewit Place. Spend some time here and get to know The...
