My experience at Nebraska diamond was below average to say the best. On the plus side the selection was good. The bad is they try to up sell you like a kid in a candy store. I first went in in mid November looking for a engagement ring. I saw one that cought my eye and some time in November went back in to purchase the ring and pick out diamonds. The first and second trips were good but nothing special or extra ordinary. I was told I had to sign a purchase agreement because the ring I wanted was just sold and one had to be made. NEVER SIGN THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT!! I was looking for a yellow colored diamond for the center piece of the ring. I was told they do not have any in stock and would have to order them in and I would get to pick from three or four. I told the sales person a budget of xxxx. I said I do not want to go over this amount. The setting ended up being just under half of my total budget. A few weeks later on a Thursday I went in to pick out a stone. Out of the four diamonds she had shipped in two were already the total of my original budget or more. The third was the right shade of yellow I asked for but had a big black spot clearly visible to the naked eye from a distance, it shouldn't have been a jewelry stone. The fourth was just out side of my budget and was the wrong shade of yellow I asked for. So basically to stay in my budget I was left with a black spotted yellow diamond or shell out the big bucks and upgrade to a diamond that was the wrong shade anyway. It was an obvious up-sell. Now I'm not one to be picky on much but when your spending more than what you get paid in three months it kind of matters you get what you ask for. I asked the sales person if there was anyway to have a few more diamonds brought in to choose from. I was told because of the dead line I needed to have the ring ready by it was not possible. I was then told I had to choose that night so she could ship the rest of the diamonds back. I said "you've kinda put me in a corner here," to which her reply was "you have kinda put yourself in a corner with the yellow diamond and tight deadline." I was then told she could give me till Monday to decide on the diamonds. That same night I went to a different jewelry store outside by the mall on O st. I told the owner my experience at Nebraska diamond. We sat down and he told me he could have the exact shade and size diamond I wanted in my price range to his store by Monday!!! Needless to say I bought his diamond and not one from Nebraska diamond.

I can not explain with words how wonderful Nebraska Diamond is. I have been with my now fiance for 4 years and looking at rings and diamonds after being together that long was not new for us. We couldn't get engaged any sooner because life has its own pace and plan. On our 4th year we revisited known prestigious places to finally go through with our purchase, we even went to the diamond district in New York City, Borsheims, looked at a lot of ideas online, chain stores at the mall just could not satisfy, we visited Nebraska Diamond of course but at that time life had gotten a little difficult. I can tell you Nebraska Diamond never lost enthusiasm when everyone else did because frankly, a sale is a sale it’s either going to happen or not.
