Bex Bridal — Attraction in Littleton

I've spent the past couple hours writing down everything that happened in this shop, while my daughter has sat crying.

But rather than posting my motherly rant, I'll spare you most of the details, and highlight the points of contention we ran into dealing with DeeDee at The Green Bride. (I'm taking it she's the owner of shop? If not, someone needs to take a good hard look at who they have working for them.)

First she tried to force a dress down our throat that we didn't want. A large part of the bodice was blush, and when we told her we were looking for white or pale ivory wedding gown, she argued with us, telling us it was "The hottest color of the year" and "Never worn". Yes, at the point she started to argue about what we were looking for, we should have just walked out, but I tried to give her benefit of the doubt and thought she was making a bad attempt at catering to my daughter's age and initially stated price range by offering a dress that she might not know was available.

Then, even though my daughter said that she was looking for a dress in the $500 to $1000 range, since I said I was willing to go higher for the right dress, and I was the one holding the cash in hand ready to pay, I believe it stands to reason, that when I pull a $1200 dress off the rack, my daughter should have been allowed to try it on. I appreciate, and in general, agree with Green Bride's policy of not letting brides try on dresses outside of their budget. But, again, I am the one holding cash, setting the budget and paying for the dress - when I adjust the budget, I expect a shop to adjust with me, not refuse to let us look at the higher priced option I have picked.

Next, for DeeDee, and others who don't know, wedding dress sizes are nothing like normal dress sizes, and when you have a bigger busted bride, that understands that alterations are most likely going to be necessary, the sales person should not dictate that she can only try on "her size", especially when nobody knows what that is going to be in any particular dress and the dresses may have already been previously altered.

And finally, despite what their designer, DeeDee, and her 20+ years of experience says, we have been in several new, and consignment, bridal shops and The Green Bride is the ONLY bridal shop that has insisted that my daughter undress in front of the sales person. My daughter is shy, and when she said she was uncomfortable undressing in front of anyone, DeeDee said, "Then at this point, we're done," and showed her the door. This is the only bridal shop that has been condescending and rude, calling me her "Mommy", when she started having an anxiety attack over the nasty treatment and lack of privacy in the dressing rooms and the only place that has called off an appointment because she was uncomfortable undressing in front of a stranger.

DeeDee, you have NO idea what my daughter has experienced in her life and NO right to berate her, or anyone else, for not wanting to strip in front of you. Further, I can assure you that, despite what you claim, your insurance does not insist that young women take off their clothes in front of you. Removing one's own clothing, privately, is NOT a trip hazard and does not endanger your precious gowns in any way.

My daughter was simply asking that you step out while she undressed, and knew you would have came back in to help her into the gowns. She told you this. I find it unforgivable that you pressed her so hard, were so ugly and unprofessional with her that she left your shop in tears. Your actions and words, in this situation, whether intentional or not, were cruel. You obviously had no remorse over the damage you did, as you offered no apology, while I stood talking to you, not yet knowing what you had done - and listening as you had the unmitigated gall to tell to me about how you support anti-sex slavery and women's rights organizations! Shame on you!

Cute shop, nice gowns, great prices and the most heartless, unprofessional, cruel and abusive customer service I have ever witnessed. We will...

PLEASE DO NOT GET YOUR DRESS HERE!!!! Both my sister and I had terrible experiences. I had an appointment with Holly the owner a few months ago. I told her I am on a very tight budget and told her this several times through out the appointment. I told her my wedding was in a few months and I was worried about getting it shipped in my size in time, and she told me not to worry and that I can take home a dress that day and easily get alterations done. She is the professional and has been doing this for over 15 years so I trusted her word. She never gave me a list of tailors or any type of price estimate at that time but she knew my budget so I figured it would be reasonable. I messaged and called her several times about getting an appointment to get the dress altered and when she finally replied to me she told me it would be the end of July, barely enough time to get it back in time for my wedding. I told her I wanted to get it in as soon as she was available and she ignored that and said the same date for the end of July so I stopped responding to her as she clearly was not listening to me. I looked for tailors on my own to get it in sooner and that’s when I found out alterations would be hundreds more than I even paid for my dress! I called the green bride and spoke with someone (not Holly) who said they would buy it back and also asked if I wanted their list of tailors because maybe it would be cheaper. I told her yes, she said Holly would call me and email that over. That never happened. I sent a follow up email, no response to that either. I called another time and spoke with the same person (Deb, I believe) who said no they don’t buy back dresses they only do consignments. I requested to speak to Holly again and sent an email after the call, no call from her and no response to my email. Since nobody ever answered me I had to buy a new dress as my wedding is coming up. In order to have any communication I had to schedule an appointment under my friends name and go in person to see them, unfortunately it was Deb working not Holly the owner. Deb did call Holly who answered and I requested her to please be put on speaker phone or to talk with me and she refused!! Deb said Holly is the only one who can do anything about this situation. I sent her a message after the appointment, and her reply was blaming everything on me saying I was the one who didn’t communicate. I didn’t respond to one message as she was clearly not going to help me, but I have the log of several calls and emails that went unanswered on her end which I have sent to her. I am devastated and extremely frustrated. She is the professional in the business and should have let me know that alterations would be over 2x my budget! All they care about is making the sale and have no compassion. I just wanted the money back for the new dress I had to buy, but she refused to make things right.

My sister ordered her dress last fall and was told it would take 2-3 weeks to get there. It took 8 months!!! She had to call them constantly for months to find out what was going on. They gave her a different excuse every single time she was able to get a hold of them. They would not answer the phone or ever call back. They finally told her it wouldn’t be here in time for her wedding. Unacceptable!! They have no communication and they only want your money. Once the sale is made they won’t answer your calls, emails or messages. Stay away from this place at...

10/10!!! I originally had a fall wedding planned and 3 days before sending save the dates, we found out we are having a baby! We ended up pushing our wedding up and began planning a wedding for 200 guests in under 30 days with 2 weeks of travel time before our big day. Obviously I needed a dress (which can be such a difficult challenge to find one that’s ready to go and fits in just a matter of days). We had set an appointment at a local bridal shop that did not have much of anything available for me and ended up getting referred over to the green bride after a quick disappointing appointment at a “high end” dress shop. Before we walked into the green bride, we said a prayer in the car to help us find THE dress.. AND one that fits without the need for alterations, falls below budget, and something we can walk out the door with today. An impossible ask. As we walked up to the shop we came to find the store was closed and by appointment only. Just as we were about to leave, we noticed a lady come out from the back of the store to open the door. This lady ended up being the owner of the store and just so happened to be there cleaning up for later appointments that afternoon. She let us in and began pulling a huge variety of dresses in my size. With no appointment and the store being closed, she put me in and out of several dresses. Most of them fit without any need for alterations. We ended up finding THE dress but had another appointment to make at another bridal shop across town that we would be charged several hundred dollars for if we missed. We asked her to please hold the dress and let her know we would most likely be back to pick it up in an hour. When we came back an hour later, she had the dress ready for us to check out. Just as we were about to leave, she asked if she could pray over me. Of course!!! She ended up praying the most beautiful prophetic prayer over me, my marriage, my shift in career and calling to come, and my baby on the way. It was beautiful and brought me to tears, above all, it was so accurate. She knew things I never told her. This whole experience was such a God thing and an incredible blessing. Above and beyond all of this, she made sure I knew how to walk in my dress and sit in my dress to quickly stand up and greet people that would be coming up to me at the wedding. I can not speak highly enough of this bridal shop and would have been lucky to find them even without the crunch of time we are under. They have a great selection and my dress ended up being less than half our starting budget. My dress needs 0 alterations. I walked out the door with the dress the very same day.10/10 simply does not begin to give this shop the accolades...
