24 Hour Fitness — Attraction in Los Angeles

With the change in management at the Hollywood Sunset location, I have not been able to submit my viewpoint and version of a case that smeared my name. This case is nearly 2 months old but I have not been able to located the person within 24 Hour Fitness to connect with. Since the change in Equityholders, the company has become worse and less organized with member interaction and care. I can see and feel the cost cuts.

Since the verbal communication from your 24Hour Hollywood Sunset staffer about the discontent of another member, Ru, my mind has been in Upsetting riddles mixed with Shock and Perplexity.

MY POSITION:

I have been told that my initial words had been encouraging and appreciated. 1 instance of which was from another 24 hour member, at a different metro LA 24Hour Fitness club, who was recalling the 1st time we previously met. She remembered the initial time we met (a time that I did not immediately recall from 3+ months prior), and my verbal words from meet motivating. Most of my actions had been to create positivity, encouragement, and motivation, paid forward.

Overall, I seek to gain motivation, show care, spread kindness, and ignite beacons of shine and smiles when possible. I am not looking to be disruptive nor interruptive during anyone’s workout.

This report is completely Gossip gone wrong. No regard for who I am as a person, just assumptions. I will not have my name smeared in sneers and snarls. Just terrible that dramatic minds can lead to misabuse of sexist assumptions and a lack of knowledge on my character.

On the day of the report, I was focused on my workout that day. I was not interested in speaking to anyone and the most I said to anyone was a simple positive “hello” or “hi”. While the report could extend than beyond that particular day, obviously some reaction happened on that particular day to trigger this case. My mind was not focused on anyone there or looking to approach anyone there. My mind was pondering how to unpuzzle a work issue and on my fitness workout.

During my workout, I had one earbud in use, which was losing battery, so I went back to the locker room to swap out my earbuds. As I left the locker room and approached the turf, I started to set up my next exercise. I looked at my notebook only to realize I cannot write in the notebook because my pencil, that I had previously been using that day, was gone. As I was nearly set up, I proceeded to exercise one set with the weights in the exercise and then during my rest period, I took a lap to retrace my steps to find that pencil. When I did not find that pencil, I went back to the turf to finish the exercises. As I wrapped my workout to a completion, I realized I still wanted to write that the workout was complete, which I was not able to do without a pencil, so I decided to search again. During my second lap of retracing of my steps. The accuser, Ru, was at the Free Motion cable machine that I have previously worked out on, but I did not speak to anyone as I was just searching.

I can only believe some narrative was built up in the complaints head that has a lot of misbeliefs and mistruths with a lack of clarity. This squirmy complaint is a common mistake of poor clarity and poor communication. Rue and other Accusers, move with a mindset of Guilty until proven Innocent. Her accusation is unfactual and full of tectonic fault lines.

From my point of view this action has the Verge of defamation and I have begun the action to Consult a lawyer.

After being a 24 member for nearly 10 years, it’s time to finally say goodbye - well, at least for now. I recently moved from OC to LA thinking there wouldn’t be any issues switching between locations, considering I’ve visited dozens of clubs over the years and have always received a similar experience, however I’ve never seen a 24 Hour Fitness in such unsuitable conditions. Before even visiting the Hollywood location, I discovered that there’s a $3 charge per visit for parking even with a validation. That alone is 3x the cost of the actual monthly membership if you go to the gym 5+ times per week. Knowing about the ridiculous charge for parking, I still decided to keep my membership, since this location was very close to new place I moved into and I was planning to make this my new “home gym”. Things took a sharp turn for the worse when I showed up on my first day and was informed that the facility has no running water, meaning lockers, bathrooms, showers, pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room are all closed until further notice. To my knowledge, this has been going on for a FEW MONTHS now. Assuming they were just experiencing some minor unexpected plumbing difficulties, I asked when the facilities might be back up and running again, to which they uncomfortably gave a confused shrug and said “We really don’t know. In the meantime, we only have a porta-potty down in the parking garage.” On top of these extreme circumstances, they are also undergoing a large scale construction project on the first floor, with giant tarps hanging down from the ceiling, sectioning off the gym floor (this construction may be correlated to the closure of the facilities mentioned above). But wait, it gets even worse… during the week I visited, there was a bit of rain, which lead to water leaks all throughout the facility (primarily the top floor). I’ve seen this many times in the past at other locations, where they usually throw a trash bins underneath to catch the water until the roof is repaired, but this was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. They literally had over a dozen leaks springing throughout the building - many of them just pouring out onto the gym floor and other equipment. Lastly, I’m not sure what it was caused by, but on one of the days I visited, there was a large pile of dirt scattered across a 10 foot area on the 2nd floor, that members were just trekking through - weird. The reason I give it a 2 star instead of a 1, is because, out of the many locations I’ve visited over the years, the early morning front desk girl, is undoubtedly the kindest, most bubbly associate i’ve ever encountered at 24 Hour Fitness. She deserves better, and so do all the members that...
