800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen — Restaurant in Los Angeles

There is another new pizza place about 4 blocks from this restaurant but I have not tried it yet which is my caveat to my following statement...800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza is the best pizza joint in the Hollywood area. They have a great location with a nice outdoor patio and even a full bar on the second level inside the restaurant. You can basically build your own pizza here much like you can build your own sub sandwich and Subway shops. They have a wide variety of toppings and you can go wild or just settle for one of there suggested pizzas (for those of us that don't feel adventurous). I decided to go with one of there suggested pizzas because it was my first time there and I realized that I really couldn't honestly review their pizza of the pizza I was reviewing was a monstrosity that I conjured up. It only took about 15 minutes after placing my order for my pizza to be piping hot and ready to eat so this is also a good spot for lunch of you work in the area. The pizza was great, the prices were reasonable, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the location is ideal. What isn't to love about this place ? I honestly can't think...

Started out with an order placed with GrubHub. GrubHub never showed, and we were watching for them!) We tried to call 800d but their phones just rang and rang. We called another location, and they said the Vine Street locations phones were out, and had been for awhile. So with no options left, we called a Lyft and drove there, as our credit card had been run by GrubHub, and their app said they had attempted delivery (a lazy driver lie!). So after all that, 800D shined. The manager remembered our order. Apologized. Admitted the phones were down, and said Comcast was working on it. He offered a refund, or free pizza made fresh on the spot. We chose the pizza, and it was fabulous. While we waited (which was not long), we were offered free appetizers and samples. Bottom line, the VIP”d us , and saved their reputation and credibility in my circle anyway. Thanks 800 Degrees, you made a frustrating experience pleasant, even though you had done nothing wrong! I want to start this review off by stating we used to love and adore this place. Knowing how delicious it had been before, we traveled over an hour to have this pizza for our date night. However, today was a huge letdown. We walked into an empty restaurant with zero music, sound, and customer service. My boyfriend and I waited 5 minutes for someone to take our order as they had always done before. The two employees 6 feet away ignored us until finally mentioning that we had to order at the Kiosk. After my boyfriend ordered an $11 bottle of Lagunitas, the employee didn’t open the bottle for him. The pizza came out quicker than the amount of time we waited to order. Another couple walked in, looked at the menu, and left without ordering. We both thought that was a good call because the pizza quality also went way downhill. We thought this place would be third times the charm, but sadly this will be the final time we ever come back to this place. If I could give the atmosphere zero...
