So I just came back here recently after a few months away, to try and see if the negative “atmosphere” here has changed (with regard to management). Well? I was greeted warmly and respectfully by a new young lady at the front desk by the name of “Jenny”. She is the new front desk manager here. Along with new other staff members. I was pleasantly surprised and felt welcomed by her professional demeanor. She seems ok… but people can change. For now? This new management just took over this place, and they seem to be “ok”. Let’s see how the new management operates overall, with time. Because Beverly Inn has been getting bad reviews, mainly cuz of the lack of upkeep in terms of poor maintenance here, and poor customer service. Lots of complaints about the former manager “rude lady” named “Gee” who used to be here. This new management seems to be starting to improve this place… gradually. It will take time.. but hopefully the reviews will improve on Google for this place, as long as they improve the hospitality here, and give the highest level of customer service (which with this new front desk manager “Jennifer”, they seem to be improving). “Jen” was warm, respectful, and accommodating. I needed to switch rooms, (and she accommodated me) understanding that there are still some aspects of each room here, that are still being “fixed” and improved (due to the lack of upkeep and lack of care from former management). Overall? Great location, parking is a bit limited… if packed? You got street parking to deal with. Close to lots of great restaurants and near The Grove Mall LA and Beverly Center. Hollywood Walk of Fame and Rodeo Drive are a short distance away by Uber OR personal car. But I think there is hope for this place. With Jen, and the new management that has just taken over. I believe the new staff needs to understand, even more so, the importance of better customer service. Hopefully they improve on it. There is a guy named “Willy” who is also one of the new managers there. I did not like his “energy”. He came off rude, at our first introduction to each other. He forgets, it’s not so much what a person says, but HOW a person says stuff, and also sometimes, their choice of words, when they are giving customer service. I believe “Jenny” has a much better higher quality, of good customer service. Ask to speak with “Jenny” (or Jen) regarding your reservation.

Dear God -- as a frequent traveler, I stay in plenty of hotels. In most cases, you get what you pay for. At Beverly Inn, guests pay for a stay in a hotel room as advertised; upon arrival, it is clear that the $150/nite accommodations already charged to my card no longer exist. The hoteliers are rude, inconvenienced by guests, unfriendly, and make no effort to provide even minimal customer service. Checking in guests midday wearing pajamas from the night before is not standard for West Hollywood. And neither are the uninhabitable rooms with bedding that appeared to have missed several wash cycles, dirty rooms, half used, toiletries from a decade ago, broken furniture, and mattresses that are years past their expiration dates. Grocery bags lined the dirty trash cans -- of note, local ordinances have been in place for YEARS banning them, so they must have a secret stockpile to avoid buying liners. I applaud reuse and recycling, but that's not why Beverly Inn uses them. Of course, the shower knob literally broke in my hand as I turned it on -- completely rusted til it broke. No water came out at all, so I was forced to request a room change. She made it clear that I was interrupting her TV show and she didn't give me the correct key for the new room, so I had to go back AGAIN and face her anger. Up and down the stairs, carrying luggage -- no apologies as she threw another key card at me that "better work." Knowing that I was going to shower, she called to bark about my parking job -- that had to be adjusted to her liking without delay. Beverly Inn ruined a weekend getaway. Get away now -- run don't walk -- and find a hotel outside of the Twilight Zone. There is no guarantee that even Scully or Mulder can save you from Beverly Inn.

The woman working the desk in the office is a miserable shrew. Refused to give use two room keys, even though there were two of us staying in the room. Lobby/front desk area is locked so when you need to check in, you have to ring a door bell and wait for her to come crawl out of her burrow (aka the back room/living space) like it’s Groundhog Day, not knowing if she’s gonna show up and see her shadow or show up at all. You’ll be met with passive aggressive contempt. But the rooms themselves are great. Clean, beds are pretty comfortable, has a functioning AC. No complaints about this place other than the woman working the desk and the blood stains found on the box spring in the picture.

Check in time is 3 pm. The woman was sitting in the office but refused to check us in before 3 pm. OK it is clearly stated so that is fair. When we got into our room, 205, it was very spacious but quite noisy as it was on the street side. I immediately noticed the smoke detector was open with no battery. I immediately told the woman at the desk and she said she would have a battery put in. When I returned to the room late that evening nothing had been done. I told her again when I left in the morning that it still needed to be fixed. She was unapologetic and quite nonchalant. She said it would be that day. When I returned that evening it still had not been fixed. I had to go to the office again and she came up and put a battery in. She then left. I looked and could not see the light that shows the alarm is functional. I tried the test button and NOTHING. I went back down and she said it works without a light and the test button does nothing. I googled it and NO that is not right. She continued to argue with me that all the rooms looked like that and it was working. She never acknowledged that it did not work. She said I was wrong and that all the rooms did not have lights or test buttons that worked. She said the manufacturer web site was wrong. She finally said she would have it replaced the next day so now 2 days with no alarm. No one came the next day so I went down again. She said there was no one to replace it. She got on the phone with the owner and I finally changed rooms to 210 after I tested that alarm and it beeped with the test button and had a green light showing it was active. Very UNSAFE and against CA laws. I also could not believe she was ARGUING with me when I had written proof. Bring matches so you can test the alarms because I don't think they will address this issue. We also did not get cleaning service or new towels...
