Here's how an action movie script reveals the HOLLYWOOD AND VINE METRO STATION. (In color and "Real 3D," of course.)

FADE IN: Traveling through the inky blackness of the underground, WE SEE, off in the distance, a hint and then the BLAST of TINSELTOWN.

CUT TO: Stepping from the confines of the RED CAR into the grandeur of the HOLLYWOOD/VINE METRO STATION. Looking left, then right, we are drawn into the GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD. "We're not in Kansas anymore."

WE ARE IMMERSED in the vision of Gilbert "Magú" Luján, the Los Angeles painter, muralist and sculptor; the designer of the Hollywood/Vine Station. This underground transit station (opened: 1998) is a homage to the real tinsel; the brilliant men and women, whose creative talents make movies come alive.

In the underground lobby WE DISCOVER a grove of ARTIFICIAL PALM TREES. In this augmented reality, giant, antique, CARBON-ARC PROJECTORS, stand-by to present tomorrow's Hollywood magic.

STREET MUSICIANS provide live underscore. (Dropping a few coins is appreciated.)

Your eyes SCAN the walls, decorated with hundreds of hand-painted tiles, capturing movie making history.

LOOKING UP, the ceiling is covered with hundreds of 35mm/400 foot film reels; still empty, waiting to hold tomorrow's entertainment.

Electronic systems provide security and information. "Teleprompters" announce train arrivals. Because Production requires an exellent Wi-Fi connection, it is provided.

A glittering, glass walled elevator whisks you to Hollywood Boulevard's star-studded, "Walk of Fame."

Everything in this well maintain station is wheelchair accessible. (When time or budget is limited, wheelchairs are often substituted for a camera dolly to follow the action. This is called a "Tracking Shot.")

Need reality? There are no bathrooms available. However, most of the nearby restaurants have facilities.

Is there any...

Probably the most aesthetically pleasing subway station design of LA’s Metro System. Magu inspired art may be worth notice as rider’s ascend to the famous Hollywood & Vine area! I liked the Hollywood themed decorations, where arched palm tree pillars branch up to film reel ceilings. There’s the film camera and projectors with Hollywood references on the walls. Elsewhere, multicolored ceramic tiled arched columns smoothly met the colorful art tiled walls, melding with the floor tiles. The patterns gave me that virtual reality feeling of walking thru a video game! The station provided a nice welcome when going to this most famous part of Hollywood! Pay-stations, electronic signs and tap card turnstiles appeared to be in good working order. This station seemed fairly well maintained, tho a bit worn and weathered at the surface. It would’ve been nice to have a restroom facility here, as there’s no outside location available for the public, other than for patrons use at the bars and restaurants. That’s par for the course for most all rail stations. Wait times were minimal compared with other lines. So quick stop layovers for views and photos here are definitely worthwhile! Otherwise, it’s on up to the Hollywood & Highland Station, where the mall above has more shops, restaurants and public...

I'm here so much I might as well set up a mattress blanket and pillow. Could literally be my home away from home at this point in my life. The one thing about public transit in LA, you can get anywhere you need to go. With very few exceptions you can get there a timely manner as well. It may take a little bit of planning but you know what so does everything else in life. I highly recommend the subway just because it's an experience. I really like the Hollywood and Vine Station because of the roof out of the subway platform. You want to find out what I'm talking about take a trip down to the subway you'll see. The place is relatively clean, I wouldn't eat off the floors there but I'm not worried about catching an infection from sitting on one of the benches either. I don't know what subways look like in a place like New York but I'm pretty darn sure they're not as clean or as well lit or even nearly as close to being good looking as the Hollywood and...

Its a beautiful well designed station that fits the Hollywood vibe . It's a huge above/ underground station 🚉 , this is one of my favorite LA metro stations , it's in a very convenient location next to the main area of Hollywood walk of fame , lots of businesses , restaurants, shopping around and my personal favorite LA hood lifez tours and danny Trejo cantina , there are metro staff here at this location alot . Love this station , definitely will use it regularly in my future LA trips 🚉 😍 ❤️ 💕 🎵🎼📽🎬🎞📸 ....I love the hood vibe on LA metro 🚇 ( fyi if people are uncomfortable with LA metro riding just ride at the front car were the conductor is mostly alot of women and kids are in that area ....personal for me I like any part of the trains , the back areas have more of a hood party vibes 😉 and it's fun 😁 I always have a good time )

This metro station is actually not that bad, although I feel like the lighting could be fixed. The elevators are very dirty and smells bad. It was also quite dark. Elevators were okay. No signage on where we are, should be available as this is tourist area as well.
