Went to this place at 1/7/16. Okay, I went here with my friends to CELEBRATE an early birthday. The attendant or rude man at the front desk, was asking for ID's (State ID's) which none of us had because we were younger than 18. Slowly started to give attitude, when we didn't have a credit or debit card either. Because we were all planning to pay with CASH. He then took us to the last room, where I might add wasn't the greatest room in the world. The walls were ripped (in some parts), the couch looked dirty, the number pad for the Karaoke machine was old, and the ceilings had uneven coloring due to a hole patched up (looking like a sore thumb in a sea of blue). I was in a horrible mood, because this rude attendant wasn't very polite or professional to the group of 5 I was in. Yes, we had money. We had shopped at Daiso, The marketplace, and went to the Aracade in the same galleria that the Karaoke place was. The selection of songs were not the greatest. The song selection is quite outdated and the "new songs" are only quite a few. Why I chose this Karaoke place, was because of its "vast" song selections. My friend and I were very excited to sing Kpop songs which they HAD on their website. And, while look through the 3 books of songs, sadly there was none. Half way through our 2 hours in that small room, my friend decided to go ask if there was a way to play Kpop songs. He responded by saying there's another machine for that, and left it at that. When 2 hours came, he knocked on our window signaling for us to leave. When we went out, we saw a group of 3 who were probably in their 20's paying with CASH. And he smiled brightly at them giving them the attention and kindness he didn't show us. When we came, he told us our total was $55. We paid him the cash and looked at me in the eye and said, "Can you get the mics from the room." After that I was glad to get out of there and head to the Village Plaza, to eat at Kula Sushi (I recommend that place, kind staff) and shop at Anime Jungle. SO LESSON OF THE DAY, Highschoolers and young adults. Do NOT go to this place to have fun, because with rude staff members like him, I won't be surprised if you threw a mic at his face. Anyways, i HIGHLY do not recommend. (Quite, knowledgeable when it comes to Little Tokyo, because I've been there many times to eat and shop. Never in my many times of going have I met an rude and grumpy staff...
Read moreI made a reservation here for a private room for 2 hours. Before making the reservation, I called and spoke to a staff member to find out if I could book for a smaller window since we only needed the room for one hour. I was told that 2 hours was the minimum, but we were welcome to come and use it during whatever part of the booking we wanted. So imagine my dismay when we arrived an hour into the booking only to rudely be told by the front desk employee that our reservation had been cancelled because we were late. I tried explaining about the conversation I’d had before booking, but he told me I should’ve read the email, and it was my fault for not showing up on time. We asked if we could still have the room for the remainder of the booked window. He said we could, but he would still charge us the cancellation fee on top of the room rate. I told him I would dispute the charge if he charged me for both the cancellation and the booking (I would’ve been happy to pay the full 2-hour booking rate that I’d agreed to, but I saw absolutely no reason to pay an additional $50 for using the room for less than our allotted time). He then he called me rude and said he would no longer let us have the room, so we left. I’m very disappointed as I was looking forward to a fun karaoke sesh with my friend, and I would never book here again for fear of another night being ruined by a rude employee on...
Read moreThis place is incredibly sketchy. The staff was super rude and unwelcoming. I've never felt so bullied as a customer in my life. We were basically the only guests in the building and they tried to charge us $30 extra for going 3 minutes over our time and for bringing in "outside beverages". Our group had come in with some trash to throw away from a bar we had just left - and the host didn't say anything to us before we went in about that being an issue. In fact, he quoted us what our price would be saying verbatim "$45 for an hour plus tax which would make it $53 when you're done". Then he tried to make us pay $80, which were successfully able to argue back down to $53, but he yelled at us and tried to make us feel like we were in the wrong.
Afterwards this same staff member said that he messed up the credit card payment and needed me to send him the money personally because he was too afraid to tell his boss. He called me for three days straight and on the 4th of July! Incredibly unprofessional and sketchy AF. It seems like the management is toxic which creates a hostile environment for both customers & employees. 10/10 would...
