MD Foot Massage — Attraction in Los Angeles

I liked this place until my most recent visit the other day. Their custom is to pay before the service… at least every time I’ve been… When the massage was done I handed my masseuse a cash tip and she was acting like she didn’t want to take it and I didn’t understand why. I thought maybe she was offended because some cultures find tipping offensive. Then she said something to the other lady who then asked me if it was my first time there and I said no. In fact, it was my third time and I’ve always brought someone with me and I always tip or pay cash. The lady pointed to the tip sign they have posted which has tipping recommendations that start at 30% and up. I had not planned to leave more than 15% of what I paid and I felt pressured to give the lady a total of 35%. It was SO RUDE and made me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I will never be back. I’ve never been disrespected that way, and I also work in the service industry so I always tip a minimum of 15%, but usually more if the service is good. Also tipping is NOT mandatory so technically I didn’t have to leave anything more. Not to mention they charge $2 to use a card....

I've been here 4 times. Each time the massage was generally good. However today I didn't have the best experience. I went in and asked for the $50 full body. The woman at the front desk asked if I wanted it hard, but I told her medium strength was all I wanted. She persisted and said I could handle her hard massage but again I said not too hard please. She ends up being my masseuse, which is not usually the case as from my experience the lady at the front desk delegates another person to do the massage. Anyways she was not gentle, and her hands were very rough with calluses. She also must have had some sort of indigestion because she was burping as well. At the end, I did not feel like the massage was worth a $15 tip, especially because she did not follow my instructions and was generally quite gross in her mannerisms. I gave her $10 and then she got upset. Oh well, I'll probably come again because this experience was a one off for me, but I did not like...

I was pleasantly surprised with the service. Made the appointment same day. Did the combo massage which included body and feet for $55.00, 75 minutes. Honestly it felt like a full body massage. The woman didn't speak much English but she was super sweet and gentle with the areas that I couldn't really have massage because I'd had surgery. I had to pay upfront the $55.00 And then I left a pretty generous tip of $20 because she was so good. I thought it was a great deal.
