I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights because it was convenient to where I needed to be. There are not many hotels in this specific area, so that must be how they get away w/charging what they do for such a mediocre place. The lobby area is much cheerier than the rooms. The pros: the staff are nice; the location is great; good water pressure in the shower The cons: -the worst part is that there is no way to control the room temp. As there are no phones in the room, to submit any kind of service request (like temperature), you have to log into their app, add a service request to the "shopping cart", and then "check out". You have no way of knowing if anyone saw it or took any sort of action. For the temp, you have two choices when submitting a service request. They are: "I'm cold." and "I'm hot." The first night, other people must have submitted "I'm hot" as the A/C came roaring/blasting on and off all night. It's a super inefficient and cumbersome process to try and get a temp adjustment or any kind of service w/out going down to the front desk. -very poor lighting in the room and bathroom. towels are thin and raggedy -bed was unbelievably mushy. -the "coffee service" in the morning is 2 large insulated carafes. No decaf or tea. No creamer options aside from 1/2 and 1/2. Super rudimentary. I asked for some hot water to use my own teabags and they couldn't even provide that. general disarray. I submitted a service request through the above mentioned app for some ice . Since you have no way of knowing if your request has been seen, I finally went downstairs after 30 min to ask for ice. They don't provide ice buckets in the rooms or access to ice machines. I asked for an ice bucket & ice at the desk, and after a search, they got me a bucket and some ice but never could find the lid, so I couldn't keep for awhile w/out melting. -internet was continuously spotty. -no gym or restaurant (they used to have a good restaurant here for breakfast. It doesn't seem like there are any current plans to open again). -parking is underground, but to get in, you have to call them and ask to have the gate open any time you return. It is $25 per night. All in all, this hotel doesn't warrant more than $175 a night at most, even for the location. I will definitely not be staying here again nor...
Read moreExcellent time with the on-site staff including Cesar. Tim, Dallas and the Property Manager Luis — who all were incredible and went beyond what they had to do. Absolutely great people on property. ||Led by the Property Manager Luis. ||And I mention everyone I liked in one review because now Trip Advisor or the PaliHotel have changed there policy so that you can only write one review and then if you stay at the property again after three months you’re allowed to write another review. Why change the policy to restrict reviews? What’s the point of Travelocity if guests are not free to speak their truth and offer as many reviews as they’d like? ||I say “terrible” because after a great multi day stay at an incredible property with incredible staff — identical to my experience at their sister property PaliHotel Westwood Village — I was told that I had been “bounced” and am not welcome back — which “came down from corporate”. ||Is it that I expressed alarm at so-called “surveillance cameras” throughout both properties? ||Well, I’m sorry. That is of real, serious concern. And should be to everyone desiring privacy and respect. Honestly, it Creeped me out. ||Trust me, “corporate”, I’ll never be back. And neither will my friends “in the Industry” in LA — good work! ||But I’d like the team on the ground named Tim, Cesar, Dallas and even the Manager Luis — to all get their bonuses and their recognition. They do an amazing job apparently under the literal weight of atrocious corporate executive ownership/leadership. They certainly deserve to get their bonuses as you explain on your cute little “Share your thoughts” cards. ||But why now limit the reviews? So you don’t have to give more than one tip to only one person per stay per 3 months? ||These questions are rhetorical folks. ||Read between the lines. Great properties and staff — awful ownership and...
Read moreGreat Hotel! Aesthetically its fun and trendy, It’s got that “Hipster” feel, tones of shiplap, anyone who watches HGTVs “Fixer Upper” will love the looks. The art thought is vintage and intriguing, they have a few Hermes Scarfs in frames that make for neat décor. The books and reading nooks create a very inviting atmosphere. The room’s simplistic décor its just right. Other reviews said the lighting was to dim to do makeup or read, but if you wait few moments to let the bulbs heat up, then the lighting is more than adequate. The hallways seem to have an odd eerie feel with their darker lighting and green curtains, but a peek behind a curtain reveals a creative use of space as some of the walls behind the curtain are more or less the hotel’s linen closets.
For being in a busy part of town, and a lively street, we were surprised by how quite it was, though our room was not street facing. The the windows facing the courtyard provide plenty of privacy. Some folks in other reviews complained about “thin walls”, honestly I expect noises from other rooms in any hotel, and again, for a lively area its not bad at all.
The staff is friendly and accommodating asking where we were from what we were doing, if we need anything, etc. the restaurant is great, the mornings were quite but had a busy buzz of folks on laptops and guests chatting and reading. Parking is…snug but that’s to be expected of an older building.
The shower is great. The water gets plenty hot, but the pressure is amazing. Practically knock you on the ground. One review said the drains don’t work well, but I think its simply the amount and speed of the water coming out. The bed is surprisingly comfortable. All in all, we loved all of the attention to details, and had a great experience there, we would stay again, and suggest...
