Loss Prevention here is overkill. They automatically assume you are stealing or doing something you shouldn't without actually witnessing a crime being committed. They single you out, following you around the store your entire shopping trip, and will now even follow you out to your car so they know what vehicle you drive and who you came with if you have other people with you. They all talk to each other on their head sets about your every move. It's even got to the point where they have some of the Target employees acting like them to the point that you will be in an aisle looking for something and all of a sudden an employee comes over right where you are and starts stocking the shelf or pretending to look for something right where you are at which is totally obvious and absolutely ridiculous.
I work for Shipt and I have most of my orders out of this store. Even being in my Shipt uniform and shopping in the store, LP is constantly following me around while I'm working on my orders. After I'm done I have to go to customer service where they check my cart and match it with my order from Shipt by scanning my barcode on my phone. Once the customer service employee gives me the ok with the items in my cart I then move aside and bag up everything in the cart and head out of the store, where I am stopped everytime by LP demanding to see my receipt which I obviously don't have because the order has already been paid for by the customer so I have to show them my phone with the digital receipt. The LP employee doesn't even look over the receipt to compare to items in the cart. They just give me attitude and tell me to go ahead and go. They see me in the store multiple times a day several days a week and I still get followed around and stopped every single time. The newest thing that happened last night was that I was followed out to my car by one of the LP workers where he proceeded to stand behind my car and text on his phone. I'm tired of being harassed and now basically feeling like I'm being stalked. I'm doing my job that I was hired by Shipt to do. I had to pass an extensive background check. It's gotten to the point that I dread having to even step foot inside this Target because I'm worried about what I'm going to have to deal with that trip. I'm tired of LP and Target employees assuming I'm going to steal or I'm doing something I shouldn't. I'm doing my job that I was hired to do and following the instructions I've been given by Shipt on how to complete my job based on their procedures that have been put into place on how I need to shop, how I checkout, how I bag up the customers order and how I deliver to the customer. I can't change that. It's like this for anyone who works for Shipt and has an order at Target. Target needs to train their employees as well as LP way better especially when it comes to coming in contact with people who are working for outside companies like Shipt, DoorDash, GoPuff, etc. Not everyone who steps foot inside Target is a thief. The harassment and stalking is beyond old and it's now interfering with me being able to complete my job without being stressed out or getting upset. I've never had any issues at any other Target that I have shopped at, except this one. Read moreFor the last several months I've repeatedly had issues with guest service at this location. Most recent complaint -- I called asking for guest service to hold on to a bag of dog food. It's hard to find this brand and in the bigger size. It sells out pretty fast and I knew odds were it would be gone if I tried to place an online order.
First attempt I was just hung up on. Second attempt an employee tried to claim they don't hold items nor do they have the space to hold items. Which seemed like a blatant lie, as I've made similar requests on several occasions. Most recently in the last month. No problem at all. I unfortunately didn't catch this employee's name but he supposedly grabbed the bag for me.
However when I went down there to go pick it up just some hours later, where three guest service employees were just loitering about -- they claimed no one made such a call. And just as I anticipated, the dog food was sold out by then. Frustrated I left, and I could hear some of said employees snickering. Though of course I can't say if that had anything to do with blatantly screwing me over.
This is completely unprofessional behavior. I've never had a problem at my usual Target location. The only reason I ever even bother visiting the one at the mall is BECAUSE they're typically the closest location that has in stock the bigger bag of dog food. Read moreYou can never go wrong visiting a Target store especially this one since it's connected to Westfield Topanga mall so you can do other stuff as well. My wife and I came here last night to look at baby strollers and car seat which they had some good selections on display. They had more floor displays here than other Target that we visited. The baby department is on the first floor, so just look at the directory so you know where to go.
There are staff throughout the store ready to help, they didn't approach us while we were in the store but I went up to one to ask a couple of questions. There also an Ulta Beauty department as well. This Target has its own structure that you can park at if you want but I decided to park at the mall parking structure.
--- old review My fiancée and I had a good experience at this Target location. We were shopping inside the mall and my fiancée needed some things from Target so we visited this location. The store is nicely organized and now they have security at the entrance now, I guess because of all those smash & grab happening. We mostly stayed on the 1st floor and were able to find what we wanted. The employees are friendly and can answer your questions if you have any. They also have 4 self checkout station, it might be an issue if they are really busy. They also have their own parking structure if you're solely here for only Target.
