Florida Winery — Attraction in Madeira Beach

It was given a 2 star due to lack of customer service. We always come to this place to get a pack of wines because we love them so much. Today we stopped by about 1pm and my husband was trying to get samples as he usually does and he always makes sure to tip. Unfortunately, the lady in front of the counter was saying smart remarks regarding our questions and giving attitude. As if we were not paying customers. We don’t just walk in there and buy nothing we walk in here every time and spend our money because we love this place and we always recommend this place to everyone we know. My in laws were visiting and we wanted to show them this place. Not only did we buy our 6 pack of wine bottles but we also ordered the wine slushes and as soon as I made a simple positive statement regarding the Frose drink she gave another smart remark. Of course we ignored it because we were spending family time and enjoying ourselves but I am sure she was being this way with other customers as well. Not a great way to treat your customers who help keep this business open. I don’t remember her name but I know she was a older lady with glasses on and light blond wavy hair...

The place itself was great. The wine was yummy! They let you get samples galore! I and my companions bought 4 bottles to take home. I went back later to the register after our original purchase to buy a bottle of sauce. It was on sale for under $5. A male staff member I had not dealt with before was at the cash register. I was by myself. There were no other customers or staff around. I gave him a $20 bill. He then acted like I gave him a $1. I knew I had given him a $20 as I organize my $ in my wallet in a particular manner & knew exactly how much I had in what denominations. He was adamant I had only given him a $1. I did not see a camera trained on the area, so I knew it would be fruitless to try to recover my $. I told him I would never be coming back again and would tell anyone and everyone what had happened. We were originally going back the next day to purchase more, but obviously we did not. Great wine but watch your $ if you purchase...

The reason I am not giving any stars is because of how I was treated by an employee. I did not have an id when I went in and I was carded and dennied- totally acceptable considering I did not have it and she was doing her job. I did have a copy of it on my phone- I usually keep it in the car so I dont loose it. The conversation following is what the issue was. I responded with that is ok, I willl save it for next time I come. She proceeded to lecture me about how this was not legal- as a law student this was painful to hear considering that she continued to serve the other person in my party two drinks that I did consume one of on the property.
