If youâre a non-swimmer like my wife and I, then you must try this mind blowing experience of snorkeling for non-swimmers. If youâre little more experienced or comfortable swimmers then you can try their sea scooter snorkeling tour which is even cheaper.
We had a brief chat at the beginning and after finishing, with Tristan whoâs the owner and you can feel his passion about providing this wholesome experience to all. Mahalo!
During this snorkeling tour, we were joined by another couple so we had 1 instructor each per couple. The training/instructions started on the land before we took it to the ocean/water. Juliano joined us to capture our experience on video/camera with our snorkeling instructors Ryan and Seth. All of them made sure that we were safe at all times while making us comfortable and encouraging us to try swimming and floating solo in the ocean and with the turtles as they were passing by.
Ryan and Juliano got me outside my comfort zone to swim solo and then with a turtle while Juliano captured it on the camera. I cannot express how much this experience has boosted my confidence to swim and also to try more snorkeling and water activities. Even they all were surprised that I could do it really well.
We saw several fishes, turtles, urchins and a variety of coral reef. I would recommend this snorkeling experience to all non-swimmers whoâre visiting Maui. This experience and being in the ocean, swimming with turtles has changed my life, I donât have words to express/explain how.
Snorkeling tip- if you have a bad vision or wear prescription glasses, I would suggest you to rent rx-goggles for your prescription from Snorkel Bobâs so you can see clearly underwater in the ocean. Itâs a...

Over a period of time I have developed a Water Phobia and that gets me scared going into the waters. Thinking about the ocean gave me anxiety. I would stand on the shore & think about all the bad things that could happen if I went into the waters.
My husbandâs deep interest for snorkeling made me more anxious. After all the process of booking & cancelling the snorkeling activity, the instructor made me join my husband for snorkeling and to let go off the fear & go into the waters. From entering into the waters till knee level & taking basic lessons to getting on the paddle board to enter the ocean for snorkeling was extremely fearful for me. My instructor handled me like a baby and made sure I give away all the fear & float in the water like a turtle (Moon- a turtle name to have for ourselves & imagine you being a trutle in the waters). After all the anxiety, the memory that I hold will be cherished- looking at the sea bed (15-20ft), watching the fishes, scuba divers passing by experience of touching the coral life under water, lying on the paddle board & watching the open sky & entering the ocean with my instructorâs help.
This wouldnât be possible without my husbandâs support & my lovely instructor. Hats off to her - she being at the age of 55, she was a water queen.
(This is the longest caption that I have e written, đđI wouldnât say I overcame my fear but it was worth the experience). Georgia you were the bestđ«¶đ» Without you this wouldnât be possible.

Read moreWhen I first saw a promo for underwater scooters, I immediately wanted to try one out. Iâm an experienced snorkeler over 70, and was excited about the prospect of being able to cover more water and feel comfortable navigating the tight underwater spaces from both natural and manmade obstacles. I signed up for the My Splash Snorkeling adventure and was not disappointed. The adventure was billed as a 1 hour experience, which I thought would work out to 30-40 minutes using the scooters. However, Scott gave us a full hour on the scooters.
Scott runs a first-class operation. He provides snorkeling gear (or bring your own) and an introduction to snorkeling for newbies. Flotations aids were offered to those interested. Once in the water he led us through the man-made reef from the old collapsed wharf at the north end of Lahaina, and then out to the open ocean. I have never seen so many turtles combined in any other week of snorkeling. The highlight of the trip was leading us to the resting place of many white tip reef sharks. These nocturnal sharks could be clearly seen resting under the debris of the collapsed wharf.
The one concern I had before the trip is if the noise of the scooters would affect the behavior of the sea life. Fortunately, they all seemed oblivious to our group of snorkelers using scooters.
I highly recommend...
