When we found out we were going to Maui I knew I wanted a Hawaiian hard wood ukulele for my collection! Then I saw Paula Fuga play with a 6 string ukulele for her new album and I needed to have one of those instead! When I went, I was a little disappointed because they only had their 6 string ukuleles tuned like a guitar, not a ukulele. With the reasoning that they don't sell that well because there isn't enough demand. I understand though because I still got one! It's a limited edition mango wood 6 string with detailing and gloss. It had a small crack in the gloss in the back that I didn't notice when purchased but I don't mind character in an instrument! Our rep was awesome! We gave us 1 on 1 time to help me with the decision, sold us the hard case for $50 and threw in a set of extra strings for free since we bought a $2000 instrument.

All instruments here are strung low-g. The explanation I got from the attendant was that they have always sold just low-g. We were told that all the pieces could be strung with traditional re-entrant tuning. But that didn’t appear to be a genuine offer to do so. This tells me they just don’t give a rip and they have a clientele that is willing to pay their premiums that really know nothing about traditional ukulele. This shop caters to those who are more classically trained or are wanting a nice wood box to put on their wall. You don’t care. Congratulations! I do care and here is your review.

This store is great! Everyone who works there is super nice and very knowledgeable. I bought a ukulele and ended up changing my mind on it. They gave me full credit towards another ukulele I really loved. I ended up buying a really fantastic spalted mango wood Mele tenor from them. They answered all my questions and demonstrated every ukulele for me to help me decide. They installed the strap button for me and got me all set up. If you're in Wailea, you can't go wrong going to them. The next time I'm in Maui, I plan on visiting them again.

This store is great! Everyone who works there is super nice and very knowledgeable. I bought a ukulele and ended up changing my mind on it. I don't write reviews EVER but my experience at this place was THAT good. Austin, my man, should probably teach a course on sales in all seriousness. He knew right away that I was borderline looking for a souvenir, however, did play a little music, and knew he what strings to pluck - pun partially intended. I walked out with a product I'm super pumped to practice on. We even had a jam session, my wife took a video - I have a half mind to ask Austin if we can go on tour once I get these chords down he is SO GOOD. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop - however if you're on the fence about getting a ukulele, beware you will walk out with one - and be happy about it....

Been dying to go to this store during vacation to get my hands on a Mele ukulele because they're a Maui exclusive maker. They have a great selection of ukes, banjo ukuleles, guitarleles, steel body ukuleles, and a small case of collector ones. Their ukuleles come in mango, mahogany, or Koa wood with Koa being the most expensive due to sustainable practices. Austin is a very helpful, knowledgeable and awesome guy. He helped me pick out a tenor ukulele within my price range. He even mentioned that you can trade in your ukulele at the same value you bought it for and they're also covered with a lifetime warranty. Thanks again for your help Austin it was fun...
