We attended a birthday party/private screening at this theater last weekend, hosted by my close friend for her son's birthday. The theater and shared spaces were all very clean, socially distanced, etc. The manager that we interacted with was very kind, friendly, and professional. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the concessions employees were absurdly slow. The entire party had arrived 15-20 minutes prior to the start time of the movie. It took a solid 25 minutes for a pair of concessions employees to put together 7 Kids' packs of popcorn/drink/candy, and another several minutes to prepare the popcorn and drinks for the hostess and host. Absolutely zero sense of urgency on anyone's part. Thankfully, the theatre manager saw us still standing there and offered to delay the start of the movie until the kids received their concessions. When they finally had their snacks in hand, the kids and hostess went into the theater to start the movie and the other 3 parents attending waited in line to buy small drinks and popcorns for ourselves. It was another 20 minutes before the 3 of us had our popcorns in hand. I am not blind to the fact that these employees may have had some sort of disability or processing disorder that caused the process to move a little more slowly. However, they were working in pairs and spending a lot of time chatting, standing around, etc. In a time-sensitive scenario such as acquiring concessions prior to the start of a movie, something could have been done to move the process along, be it increased supervision to keep things moving, an extra pair of helping hands, etc. Had we not been attending a private screening, we would have either had to forego concessions or miss 20+ minutes...
Read moreHad a horrible experience here. Preordered tickets for the 26th and the power went out, was told we could come back and use them. Went today and walked up to the ticket stand and very politely explained the situation and the older man running it immediately cut me off and raised his voice telling me that “fandango should’ve issued a refund” and when i explained that they didn’t he said “well i’ll try to retrieve them” as if it was an inconvenience. i scanned the qr code and they printed off with no issue. after i stood in line to get popcorn and overheard him treating the man that was next in line with complete respect. got the impression that he is a misogynist treating me like i was clueless trying to explain my situation. i feel bad for his coworkers who have to deal with him all day. Besides that the theater was absolutely disgusting. the bathroom was horrendous, the sanitary bin in the ladies room was literally over flowing and the theaters were just filthy. only thing saving this place from one star was the very kind young kids working concession. save your money and your time and go a few minutes to the diamond center theater. much...
Read moreI usually like this movie theater but on Saturday they convinced me it's time to switch to the Regal Cinema in Willoughby. At the end of Thor right as the big battle is about to start the movie cut out and went black. Now I've had this happen before NBD, they fixed it and moved on. Then this happened yet again a few minutes later. I go out to complain and it's difficult to find anyone to address the issue quickly because they empty the whole place out and turn off the lights after seating their last showing, then when I do find someone I get attitude about how they just finished fixing it the first time. They eventually go up and rewind the movie and start it back up but in the meantime the audio has been going and the ending is somewhat ruined and my family's movie going experience is definitely ruined. Going to the movies is expensive enough. I'll take my business...
