"As an experienced diver, I would like to share my thoughts on this diving site.
They have a very nice boat, and they offer everything the day before the diving. We discussed visiting the Atlantic Reef (it's the dive spot we chose). They showed me pictures and videos of the place, and they were very knowledgeable about the Atlantic Reef. However, they didn't mention one important thing: that itâs not sure we would dive there, which was the main reason for our trip.
So, we paid and arrived the next morning, ready to go to the Atlantic Reef without realizing it might not happen. Only 20 minutes into a pleasant trip among the luxurious Miami houses, they remembered to tell us that the weather conditions were bad, and we needed to check if diving there was possible. I now understand their responsibility, but why didn't they inform us about the sea conditions in the morning? Why not share this information with us on the dive day and perhaps postpone it?
I was very disappointed to hear this only after we were on the boat. They offered us another place to dive, a safe spot. So, I asked if there was anything to see at this diving spot. He answered, 'Yes, there are things to see.' Then I asked his father honestly, and he told me the opposite: that there was nothing to see and that the water was not clear at all. When we got to the place I did a snorkeling and figured that he lie because there was nothing to see.
"So, as a recommendation to people interested in diving at the 'Atlantic Reef,' if you don't mind about the boat and all those preparations, be prepared for this unpredictable situation. I paid $1600 for three people and didn't even get to dive, despite it being the main purpose...
Read moreCalled the owner, asked if there were any reservations, the owner said no. We headed to the address given, and after getting close realized it was a very shady location. They have no building and the address led us to a tall building next to a park. We did not see the owner. After calling and telling the owner we were there, he enthusiastically began talking about how âgreat the waters wereâ the other day and it was a âgreat dayâ for scuba diving. The conversation became increasingly shadier. The owner then told us other people were also currently booking reservations, and since we had a group of 5, our total would be 1000. That would be fine UNTIL the owner tells us to Venmo or Cashapp him the first $500 to âreserve a spotâ. No legitimate business uses either app, and we had a strong feeling it was a scam. We told him we werenât interested and then subsequently he began texting the number trying to convince us to come back and even told us he was âon his wayâ to the âofficeâ. We ran to another store nearby, where people were much nicer and we rented a boat for the day. Way more worth it than this shady likely SCAM. Do not go to the address, there is nothing there and DO NOT Venmo or Cashapp him the first deposit, as who knows what he could...
