Nice staff but old, dingey and overpriced - We booked this place based on the good reviews and because our usual spot was full. I must say the staff was really nice in all my interactions with them. But this hotel was *unbelievably* overpriced. First off the whole place reeked of industrial sanitizer. A week later my clothes still smell like that. The room was old and broken down as you can see in the pics. When we walked into our room the soap from the previous guests was still in the shower. There was a buzzing sound in the room which the staff told us was the fridge but once we unplugged the fridge we were told they could move us but they never followed up. Then on the first day housekeeping didn't come. When they did come they refused to make the second bed because it had some clothes on it. I've stayed at countless hotels and this has never been an issue. They also refused to replace the 2 complimentary water bottles we received. Again a first. When I brought it up to the staff they told us it was policy to charge for extra water bottles. It wasn't about the money obviously but the service. The only positive were the beach chairs and towels. But will not be staying again.

The location of this hotel was awesome. The beach and all kinds of places to eat and shop are eity in walking distance. They don't tell you when you book your room and after you pay that there is an additional 60.00 resort fee. This place is no resort. The fee is for a real chinsy beach towel and the use of an umbrella and chair on the beach. They are very strict about check in time and will not allow you to check in one second before 330. The customer service was aweful. The rooms clean but they are also very strick about giving you any extra towel or blanket. They make sure to remind you several times that you need to be out at 11. If you use a beach towel they hunt you down to get it right back when you return from the beach. I am glad we only stayed one night with them.

We chose this place to stay based on online reviews and we don’t regret it. The staff was very friendly. They have umbrellas and chairs available at the beach (so you will be saving if you spend the day at the beach). We enjoyed their happy hour at the hotel too, free wine from 5-7 ish. It’s stroller friendly, there’s a ramp and an elevator. The location is great. I also recommend filling up your bottle from the fountain they have at the reception (otherwise we paid 5$ per bottle at a supermarket or 9$ at a restaurant). The only downside was that we had called in advance to make sure they have a crib ready for us, our plane arrived late at night, and the crib wasn’t ready. Our son had to sleep with us in the same bed our entire stay.

We arrived late, I notified via our booking that we would arrive late but flights were delayed even more. When I made the reservation via southwest.hotels.com I chose a "suite" that can sleep up to 4 people, because there were definitely 3 of us going. The pictures of the suite I chose, showed two queen sized beds, with a kitchenette, a sitting area and a balcony. That is not the room we got. It was after 2 am when we arrived and once I saw the room, I said that's not the room we booked. I was told they're fully booked and don't have any other rooms. The online ad had a picture of a pool...the property has no pool. They advertised breakfast as part of their price...no breakfast. The room was a make shift room for 3-4 people with barely any space to walk...just one blanket in there. Had to go ask for an additional blanket. One of our friends was leaving a day earlier than the other two and they were adamant about her checking out at 11 on the day that she was leaving, even though we were there for another night. Each person at the desk had a different policy. I see some people had access to the items in fridge for free, but we didn't. Who charges $2/bottle for Costco brand bottle of water? The water in the shower wouldn't get hot, 2/4 outlets didn't actually work. Someone came knocking on the window and door at 3 am on our last night, and when I reported it to the front desk, I was told maybe I was sleepy and didn't know where the knocking came from. They knocked on the window, and our door. There is clearly a mold issue and water damage under the floor boards. I could hear the people staying upstairs walking when I was in the room. Our flight was leaving late on a Monday, we got an extra 30 minutes to check out and they agreed to hold our luggage, but unlike other guests, we were not offered to use their bathroom to change and freshen up from the beach for our flight home...instead the lady at the front said to use the outdoor showers on the beach. I don't recommend you stay here...there will be fees upon fees, and you don't get anything resort like... When we arrived, apparently the booking website only sent the reservations for 2 people, but I know I paid more for 3. They charged us an additional $70/per night for the 3rd person, and that didn't include the $30/per person/per day resort fee. This is NOT a resort...let's be clear. It has beach access with chairs and umbrellas, and even though we paid for the additional person, the beach people still charged us an extra $12 for the third person we already paid the resort fee for. When I told the manager...she said that they shouldn't have done that and that I should've told them, which I did. And now that I see the owner's responses to others...definitely a no...

Arrived at 10 am, after a cruise, with a migraine and exhausted teenage son. Told reception we just needed to sleep. She didn’t care. Was told couldn’t check in UNTIL 3 even though people were checking out at the time! I even offered to pay extra. No deal. Just staying one night with 7:30 am checkout. We stayed at Dream hotel on Collins week before when we arrived at 1 pm from the airport and Dream got room ready in 30 minutes with very pleasant, professional staff. Anyways, people checking out were kind, told us about the free Trolley right outside the hotel and gave us their map (they didn’t look happy either) RECEPTION DIDN'T EVEN MENTION THIS FEATURE. Nonetheless, we trollied around for 2 hours (and suffered the entire time), ate lunch (at Finnegan’s on Ocean which was superb) and with migraine getting worse arrived back at 2:20pm. Was told WE STILL COULD NOT CHECK IN UNTIL 3! INSANE!! Finally got into the (overpriced) room, ancient shower floor ceramics with icky grout, no garbage can in bathroom, makeshift $10 shelf, plain bathroom mirror cracked, glued, cheap buildout, lamps etc, one starchy sheet on the beds, NO BLACKOUT BLINDS OR CURTAINS, broken door lock. They give you your TV remote at check in desk. That’s a first! Given nothing that had room number written on it (standard). $285 US with “resort” fee added on but it’s truly a 2 star Inn with no on-site amenities whatsoever and I’ve travelled plenty all over the world. Trust the negative reviews. Needs ++++ upgrades and truly lacks “hospitality”. Obviously no professional or conscientious ownership, must be someone’s hobby. Being Italian myself I found the use of the name Italia with this place offensive. Italy means class and good service, attention to detail. Wanted a new experience but should have just rebooked the Dream. Can’t/won’t recommend. Need to add, we slept from the time we got into the room until morning, showered, couldn’t read the labels on the reused little bottles, had welt on my belly from bite, and TV didn’t work. The absolute worst. I’m not even going to ask about the breakfast they advertise, I’ll eat at...

Great location! Staff was okay. Rooms are smaller than the average hotel room, walls are VERY THIN so expect to hear conversations, people walking up and down the stairs, doors closing and your neighbors next or across from you. Rooms do not get cleaned on the daily, you have to request a cleaning and even if you do it would take HOURS for them to clean. It took 4 hours to get one roll of toilet paper for our room. No big trash can on property but it is one conveniently placed right outside next to the bus stop that you will have to use to throw your own trash out. They have a nice outside seating area. When booking through a 3rd party it said they served breakfast for $10 a day. When I asked about it the woman said no breakfast because the kitchen is so small but i witnessed one of the workers making breakfast inside. They also wont let you use the microwave to warm up your food (same lady) but other guests were able to get their food warmed up by one of the young workers that worked in the afternoon/evening. Lets get back to the room. The beds were nicely made but the top sheet is VERY THIN! I shivered the first night. They have a mini fridge setup with drinks but dont fall for it. A can sprite could easily be $10 so we avoided the drinks at all costs. Back to the thin walls someone took a #2 and enroute back to my room i could smell it all in the hallways 🤢no smoking in room which is understandable. If you rent a vehicle and use their valet I heard that its expensive daily. They allow pets which is a plus!. I had 2 people and they only gave us one room key. I dont know if it only because 2 but if more than 2 with one key card that may be an issue. Some hotels will void the resort fee if you dont plan on using the things that come with it but this hotel would not. So if u stay here use EVERYTHING that they...
