Went for lunch with friends. The food is pretty good, flavorful, and nice. There's a variety of sandwiches, entrees, juices, and sides. The entree's special of the day wasn't marked and at $18 for a plate of lasagna that's a mediocre deal. There are plenty of places in Miami you can get a $18 or less lunch that's a larger portion or even better quality.
The service left a lot to be desired and made me regret a tip. The staff forgot an order, one of the cashiers was a bit rude, and I almost had to beg for a drink that I'd already paid for and was forgotten. It was just a few bad apples and the manager that ruined the experience. Most of the staff was polite but if you run into some of them you'll likely feel put off as a customer. OK, I can take my money somewhere else please if you don't want it!
The atmosphere, if I could go negative I would. The place is well decorated with the Pinocchio theme, has a great view, but the patrons stunk when I arrived. I know this is luck of the draw but the response of the restaurant staff is why I gave it one star.
When I went the outer tables were packed so we dined inside. A group of kids, aged about 5-7, were running, yelling, playing with the toys, spilling gelato on the floor (which wasn't cleaned up in our stay there), they ran off other customers and not a word was said. It really took what could have been a good to mediocre experience downhill. This group ran off another customer, nearly destroyed some decor, and spilled gelato in about a 10 ft. series of drips. While I was there, about twenty minutes, no staff cleaned it so welcome to sticky gelato on your shoes. Nothing was said to the kids and really something should have been said to them and the parents. Our party left as soon as we consumed the food after this nightmare of bad kids also ran off at least one other patron. I know that the restaurant staff is not the parent but when you run off other customers and leave the place dirty and nearly torn up, something MUST be said.
So if you love Pinocchio, or can get a table outside on a nice day, it's not bad. If you go inside and have to deal with rudeness, forgotten orders, and terrible other patrons I'm sure you'll rate it the same as...
Read moreWe have seat to eat in this location, the ladies in the front didnt understand anything on how to make you a breakfast, not to mention a frozen coffee. $15 dollar for scrambled egg that really is not how a restaurant suppose to provide, even in a diner it would be better. $6 orange juice and Iced Pinocchio (supposed to be a frozen coffee) they made it 3 times, and its literally some coffee with milk, not frozen, not frape. they charging you so much money and 0 service, 0 customer service, no waiters, and still charging you 10% Service charge !
didnt try to fix the meal or the coffee or credit it back to us. i mean i would never ever step a foot there again. and will make sure people would know how this place is treating customers when you charge ! you need to comply with the service you provide ! this place failed . annoyed, $25 dollar each person for coffee and scrambled egg, x 3 people and was just horrible. also, scrambled egg dont arrive never just the egg istelf, in this price you at least need to provide few things next to it, including few pieces of bread, butter, potatoes, or something on the side, i didnt took a picture but it was embarrassing. i really wonder how did they got...
Read moreWhat is there to say about this little place? First of, if you're a fan on Pinocchio then you've got to visit this joint. Small, simple decor and a few steps away from Ocean Dr. Lorenzo, not sure if he is the owner, was very nice and saw me indecisive on what to order and recommended the #1 panini sandwich which is basically Prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato and pesto. Simple food prepared in front of you by a smiley young lady who is always looking around to help if needed. I know the bruschetta is one of the items to try but I wasn't that hungry and just wanted a light lunch sandwich and this one was perfect. They also serve gelato and have some variety but that's not what this place is about. Location is actually on 8th street between Collins Ave and Ocean Dr but closer to the beach and parking can be quite challenging but it's to be expected when in...
