Calhoun square is an unsafe place. I had my locker broken into at the gym and when I went to tell security they let me know there were no cameras on the building. My entire wallet was stolen and when I tried to leave the parking ramp I had no way of paying. I pressed the button on the screen to call for help & the security guards told me to just use my phone to pay. Well some of us don’t have our cards on the phone and I just had all my things stolen!! I had to fight with them to let me leave. They then made me wait 10-15 minutes to leave.
This place on google maps needs to be updated. Aside from being unsafe, it is a mostly vacant mall. All the businesses have left because of the unreasonable rent and crime. There’s an LA fitness, a bank and some other spot I can’t remember what, because it’s so insignificant. The only way they make their money is by overcharging for the parking ramp. The worst part about it is they have ZERO CAMERAS anywhere. In one of the worst parts of uptown, how can you not have cameras anywhere? And the security just stand in one room chatting, they’re not even making rounds.
Here is a picture of the woman who stole my things & the man who was ordering her around at a store. Walgreens was able to give me their picture and the security guard said he thought that...
Read moreI've been going here for 25 + years and it has gone through many different stages of activity and I unfortunately find it somewhat pitiful and always on the verge of starting from scratch with hopes for the last 15 years. Crossing fingers that things remain fluid for those independent shops who come with a dream but seem to come and go like a hex. The chemistry of this building has changed and sometimes the over enhanced upgrade kills the authenticity and scares away vendors which is the one thing that genuinely creates character. Unfortunately this place has a lack of customers in order to keep independent vendors above water. Somehow this place has created the ambiance of where only a chain can afford to be existent however with that leaving the energy remaining cold and stale is how the cycle of this process works in my eyes which I find...
Read moreThis building has potential, only main reason why this still exist is because of LA fitness right now. Although last week had more people, but only because there was a Art alley, which was nice to see and I hoped the artist made some success over there. But stuff like that doesn't happen often. I'm sure this mall was popular 10-15 years ago, but because a lot of places are closing and the environment has changed around uptown Minneapolis I kinda understand. Plus I guess most people most get annoyed with paying the parking lot which I don't see the point when that place is a ghostown. I can only assume people pay for parking is to go to...
