I sent this response to Jared and never got a response so thought I'd share my experience with other potential customers
This review is in reference to a couple of different visits to Jared (all with the same interaction with the same sales associate). My fiancé purchases me a beautiful sapphire necklace for my birthday and unfortunately the chain was not long enough. This prompted my visit to Jared on 2/3/18. I really cannot remember the sales person’s name that helped me that day. First off she did not seem to really be interested in helping me with such a low dollar item. I felt more like a hassle to her. I pointed to the length of the necklace that I was wearing in the store and requested something similar to that length. Instead she pulls out a super long chain and suggested that one since it was “adjustable” not thinking about the logistics of the necklace I went ahead and agreed (since again I felt like I was being such a bother to her). This was my first interaction with this sales associate and I must say that it was quite unpleasant.
My second interaction with this same sales person was on I believe 2/6/18. At this time I realized that the “adjustable” chain was not the right fit for my particular necklace. My pendant was fixed to the chain so I could not use the adjustable feature and the necklace was much too long. I bring my necklace back to be corrected (of note the clasp was on the right side of the necklace and the pendant laid correctly). Upon arrival to the store I was greeted by the store manager and she was quite pleasant. I informed her that I was very unhappy with the way my necklace turned out with the “adjustable” chain and she said that the problem could easily be fixed.
Unfortunately she handed me off the sales person who originally sold me the “adjustable” chain on 2/3/18. This sales person (who again I cannot remember her name) made me feel absolutely terrible. Her first suggestion was to just cut the chain down to my desired length. Once I declined this idea she became ever more unpleasant. Eventually we came to agreement on the correct chain length for me and she sent it back to be corrected. This is speculation only but I think that my chain was not attached correctly to my pendent (possibly d/t this sales person). The clasp was attached to the left side of the pendent. I assume that clasps are attached to the right side (UNLESS someone specifies that they are left handed) and the pendent really sits poorly it does not lay flat on my chest. I did not dare return to Jared again to have this fixed due to feeling so uncomfortable and so dissatisfied with my two prior visits.
My first interaction on 2/3/18 was uncomfortable. After my LAST interaction with her on 2/6/18 both myself and my fiancé will NEVER PURCHASE anything from Jared ever again. May I please add my fiancé has been buying my jewelry from Jared for the past 4 years and would have likely continued to buy my jewelry from Jared for years to come. However I have went so far to tell him if he every buys anything for me at Jared again I will...

The stellar online reviews also had us in high hopes. He told us that he would have the 3D design rendered in a week or so and the ring should be ready in three weeks to a month saying that he likes to underpromise and over-deliver. We left feeling lucky and excited.
After three weeks when there was no correspondence or update from Landon, we asked for the status of our ring. He replied that he was backed up due to the number of custom orders he had taken on. Although the ring would be delayed, we understood that he was busy and because three weeks seemed very fast for our ring to be made anyways, we were okay with waiting a little longer.
Our engagement party was almost two months out from when we met Landon. This gave Landon double the time that he said he would need to make our ring. Landon said it would be difficult to have the ring ready then and that he can issue us a refund if we wanted. We were confused by the sudden change of expectations. Before we could ask for the refund, Landon proposed that he could also continue working on the ring and offered us a temporary ring of similar size/shape for the engagement party. Reluctantly, we agreed on the temporary ring, thinking it may be good to finish the ring with someone we started with and had a great reputation as a jeweler. Our engagement party was celebrated without our actual ring.
A couple weeks went by without any updates. We were moving out of the Bay Area in 3 weeks, and we had no idea Landon and our engagement ring would still be a factor in our lives almost 3 months after Landon promising us our ring. Informing him of our move, he said it would be ready with no problem. Weeks went by; no updates. A week away from our moving date, we asked him for our ring— he asked where we are moving to and that he will ship it to us.

Read moreAn absolute fantastic experience. I wanted to surprise my wife with a wedding ring upgrade for our 25th anniversary. I was pressed for time and didn't have many opportunities to shop for rings. We were heading out of town in a couple of days for our anniversary, so I needed help in my ring decision but was also hoping for a quick turnaround. I found the perfect spot at Jared. It was not far from my place of work in Palo Alto, which was a big plus. I had browsed the Jared website hoping for inspiration, but I wound up with more questions.
I was greeted professionally by the Jared team. After opening the door for me (they keep it locked for security reasons), I was introduced to Landon (Craig) who was more than gracious in answering my questions and concerns. I arrived a little after 5pm and Jared was closing at 7pm. I was skeptical that I could a) find the perfect ring, b) complete the purchase that day, and c) that the ring would be ready before I left. Well, Jared and Craig far surpassed my expectations.
With Craig's awesome help, I found a gorgeous ring, one that I knew would be perfect for my wife. I picked the perfect stone and the team at Jared set the ring and polished it to magnificence. I was in and out in a little over an hour. Just amazing.
Another great feature is that I was assured that if my wife didn't absolutely love her ring or if it needed resized, I could either return it or have it sized. However, the ring was a perfect fit and my wife fell in love with the ring. :-)
I can't recommend Jared enough. I don't know much about rings; at least I certainly don't remember much about them after 25 years! Craig was just great and he and Jared helped make our 25th anniversary one to remember....
