My wife and I have come here a few times to see musicals performed and each time it has been a blast. My wife does reviews for a non profit theater reviewing company and that's why we went this most recent time. We saw Beauty and the Beast and it was far above the quality you'd expect from a local city performance. The set, live pit orchestra, and actors/actresses were all quite good. The amphitheater itself has quite a bit of seating but tends to sell out so make sure you arrive a bit early so you can actually find a seat. The seating are metal bleachers with closed backs so bring something soft to sit on if your butt gets tired easily. Both times I've gone the performances have started at 8 so the whole amphitheater was shaded for seating (sun sets behind the seating) and it got a bit chilly late into the performance (even though it's late July) so consider a blanket or jacket. The amphitheater is a high quality local structure and has nice bathrooms as well. You'll enjoy your...
Read moreWent to see a free show here a couple of weeks ago. I had never been here before and didn't know what to expect. I was shocked at how nice it was.
When you input the address for this place on Google Maps, it takes you to a round-about styled parking lot. Parking is limited there so get there early if you're looking to see a show in the amphitheatre. You have to walk into a small trailhead to access the amphitheatre, but there is clear signage to help you find your way. There is more parking if you drive towards the elementary school that is tucked away beyond the round-about styled parking lot.
I'm not sure how old the amphitheatre is, but it's so well taken care of that it looks new to me. There isn't a bad seat in-house. There are bathrooms around the corner of the stage and there is a window to buy refreshments and beverages.
I would love to come see a...
Read moreWe came here for Seussical twice this season. The show was incredible and the Amphitheater was amazing! The seats are comfortable and, thanks to the tiered seating, my kids were able to see well from most any seat. The stage is raised and has an orchestra pit. Even in the front row you can see really well. The lighting and sound system for microphones was great, too.
My only complaint was the wasps/hornets. There may have been a nest nearby--I saw some climbing under the right of the stage (your right if you're facing the stage from the audience). Two kids were stung one of the nights we were there (one while they were standing in line to get into the theater and one while they were leaving). They were stung on opposite sides of the Amphitheater, not near where I saw wasps...
