Look elsewhere to sell your items.
I took a very large tote full of items, probably worth over $200, into the store on June 13. I told the young girl who took my items that I did not want her to take the tote bag that all of the items were in, it was an important tote bag and wasn't for sale. She said no problem. She told me I could wait in the store for them to go through my things, or I would get a courtesy call letting me know when my items were ready to pick up. Three days went by and I never got a call, so I rang them to ask if my things were ready. They said yes, come in anytime and pick up your remaining items - they apologized saying that the girl working that day forgot to call me. I told them I wouldn't be able to pick up the items for another couple of days and she said she would make note of it and that is fine, she said "come in anytime". I went in to pick up my $17 and my remaining items to find that everything has been donated and I was never notified...Never received a phone call or an email. Furthermore, I don't even know what items they took for $17 I got in exchange, so for all I know they could have kept everything instead of "donating" the items like they said.
When I was clearly upset, all the employees could tell me was that it was their "policy" that if customers don't pick up their items within 3 days they would be donated, then proceeded to rudely tell me I should go to the Savers down the road and see if I could find my items to buy them back.
It would be understandable to have this happen if I had clearly understood their "policies" but they were never explained to me by the girl working on June 13. This company really needs to work on training their employees to clearly explain policies when other people's belongings are at stake, and to work on customer service. Yes, I'm aware I took the items there to sell because I didn't want them anymore. What I'm more upset about is how this company handled everything. It would have been a simple courtesy to do a phone call reminding me of the supposed policy I was never informed of.
From every situation there can be something gained... I guess this time it's a whopping $17 and a lesson learned to never bring items here again. Shame on businesses like this. If the way I was treated today is any indication of how they run their company I'm surprised they are still...
Read moreI brought 2 full bins to sell. It was my first time. I fully understand that many of my items are not going to be sold. It took I believe less than 30 minutes for them to sort my items while I was browsing the store and until my name was called. The lady at the counter said they didn't take many as most are outdated but they took 9 items and came to the amount of $35 cash or $44 (rounded off) for store credit. However they didn't show or say which items they purchased.
When I got home only then I realized how much such a low ball purchase it was. These are some of the 9 items they purchased: Two BNWT (BrandNew With Tag) Adrienne Vitadinnni bags, one has a tag of $168. BNWT Kate Spade wallet $89 Croton Leather Purse, (pretty expensive purse from Australia) Zara small crossbody bag I'm trying to think of the rest they purchased, but couldn't figure, I guess it's good I didn't know to ease my dismay.
According to their website, "We offer between 25% and 35% of what we price items at in cash. We pay a higher percentage for high-demand brands like Lululemon, Free People, or Zara. We pay a little less for mass-produced brands."
Understandable, however given with just those two brandnew items with its tags, with 9 items sold if I have taken $35 cash instead of store credit, it averaged at roughly $4 for each item!! I was stunned when I saw the numbers!
I buy and sell for almost 3 years online in 3 different platforms. I strongly believe there seem to be a conspiracy. The numbers are stiff and how it was handled was not professionally done by not showing items they will purchase from you.
I'm being generous to even give another star as they have good items to sell. They seem to go by the trend for the youths and some for the adults.
You are better off to sell your items on your own. The items they purchase from you are not even a good fraction of how much the items cost. For my $89 Kate Spade, I atleast expect to make $15-$25 from it, as they advertised they pay 25%-35%, that's not even 25% from what I expect. That little less mass produced brand is sold at 4% or it could have just not purchased at all....
Read moreI went in first thing in the morning on March 9th after deep cleaning my closet & I mean DEEP cleaning my closet. I took in 6 or 7 garbage bags full of stuff! I dropped off my items and proceeded to walk around the store while I waited. Iit had been 3 times the amount of time they had quoted me but I thought it might have been because of all the items I took in so I went up to the front to ask if they had finished. The two girls had already gone through my bags and were just talking with each other, when I asked if they were done they went back to work and said just a few more minutes. I wasn't too upset at that point and waited for them to complete entering the items into their system. What really frustrated me, is when they paid me for the items, not because of how much they gave me or the amount of items that they took but because the lack of customer service. Once I was paid out they just ignored the fact that I was carrying my bags out to my car and a few were tipped over behind the counter. The girls continued to watch me pick up the bags as they were spilled out on the floor. I literally had to get their attention and ask if I could walk behind the counter to get my last bag. Again, I know this is a one off and they are young girls but they should still take care of the customer. I was literally the only one in the store. They could have just talked the day away once I had been taken care of. Super disappointing in the service at this location. I chose to take my additional items to Plato's closet with more items and not only was the service great, they helped me carry my bags to and from the location. I'm not expecting that but just some decent...
