We had an amazing time. We came in for a day trip to enjoy my son’s 2nd birthday and it was perfect. We stopped at the small family market around the corner and then headed to the pier where we were able to find easy free parking and very close beach access. We had no troubles getting to the beach with our two year old and our belongings.
I would definitely recommend water shoes for this beach. The current was very strong and the ocean floor was full of shells and ocean debris which was unpleasant. I put my child in a life preserver and I felt it wasn’t too safe to go in at all, although there were many people a good ways into the water. The waves on this particular day were just absolutely brutal, I was knocked over and dragged a few times, immediately skinning up my knees and the ocean could have swallowed up my 2 year old very quickly, even in the very shallow surf. I normally love to frolic about in the waves, but even just the surf challenged every muscle in my body, my knees and ankles were even too weak too withstand it for any considerable amount of time.
Despite the aggressive waves, it’s still a great beach and the views are incredible and the memories will last forever. There are no rows and rows of high rise hotels obstructing the pristine views. The other beach goers were chill and friendly. Everyone is happy on the beach!
I highly recommend this experience! Just bring some water shoes, sand toys for the youngsters, and your favorite bevvy.
There were many treasures to behold in the surf and sand. I would definitely provide my toddler a sand bucket and shovel next time, so he can busy himself making moats and...
Read moreWe had so much fun at Jeanette's Pier and I am so happy that we went. When we arrived the first that that we noticed was the parking, although it was full there were so many people coming and going that we were able to find several spots almost immediately which was great.
We had gotten some tickets for Jeanette's Pier so got a chance to enjoy that but before we did we went inside the gift shop that had so much stuff that we couldn't just choose one thing! We got ice cream + some other snacks. All of the staff were really nice.
As we walked the pier we saw people fish, talking on the phone, looking at the water and just jangling our it was really nice. The pier is really long so it's a great walk. The pier provides you with finishing poles and bait for charge if you want to fish! We didn't though.
When we got to the beach area we found a place very close to the pier. To our surprise there was nice breeze so it wasn't very hot which was great. We were able to collect some beautiful shells and enjoy some eats too!
The bathroom was okay, I heard that they were the cleanest from any other beach area so that was a plus, I was impressed with it because it was a public beach bathroom. I still used precautions though.
The beach was clean but the trash cans were filled with so much stuff that were things falling over out of the trash so that could have been better. Overall this beach was cool and I would...
Read moreDuring my 5ish day vacation, I went to this pier 5 to 6 times. Inside it has a gift shop and a counter where you can get snacks, fishing bait, fishing rods, fishing line, and many more things. It is run by the aquarium, so there is a little area where you can see some fish in a tank. I'm not entirely sure how long it goes but it does go far into the ocean. Usually during the night time it was more crowded than in the mornings you can get really good sunrise and sunset pics.
Out on the pier, me and my family saw a lot of different animals at the edge of the pier like jellyfish, manta rays, pelicans, seagulls, and birds of all sorts.
They did have some informational stuff on the way down and they have free viewing devices. Me and my mom mainly went for sunrise and sunset pictures. It is only a two dollar entrance fee for sightseeing.
If you are fishing, it cost a different price. They also have an all day pass, a three day pass, and weekly pass. They also have plenty of benches for you to sit on. At the beginning of the pier, there are tables that you considered as well. For the fisherman of the group, there are places where you can put dead, carcasses, fishing line that you used, and places where you can clean the fish including on the back of...
