Back on November 6th, 2017 my wife and I purchased a chair from Christina Dinu, the apparent store manager of this location. At the time, my wife was 6 1/2 months pregnant and we were looking for a rocker recliner for the nursery. Christina showed us around and helped us find a fabric and chair we liked. She gave us a good deal and told us that all parts were in stock so to allow 4-6 weeks to come in. A 4-6 week window would work perfectly with our schedule so we could have the chair in the baby’s room before the baby’s due date.
To keep it short, my wife and I had to call the store back on 4 different occasions and talk with multiple different people resulting in 4 different reschedules of the chair (Jan 1st, 8th, 15th, and 24th) without any reason why and no real evidence that the chair would ever show up.
When I called 2 days ago to speak with someone, I finally found out it was a fabric issue. When I complained that if they simply told us that earlier my wife and I would just come in and reselect a fabric. That is when I found out, to their own admission, that they don’t actually know if anything is in stock until after it’s ordered. They cannot promise a 4-6 week window regardless of what the policy page they recite at purchase says. They are deceiving customers. I understand distribution issues happen, but not lying about a time frame when you don’t know. Instead, they wasted 2 months of our time and ruined any hope of getting a chair in our nursery before the baby comes this week.
When I was finally able to speak with Christina to express my frustrations, she became extremely defensive and hostile on the phone. She presumed to yell at me, claim she wasn’t my sales person and was offended that I called to complain like I’m not in the right after this colossal screw up. Needless to say, I cancelled the order.
In conclusion, I was truly looking forward to the chair, but I strongly encourage all shoppers think before buying here and to definitely avoid Christina in fear that if anything goes wrong with your order she’ll be zero help. If you’re determined to buy, you could be waiting 11-12 weeks with no explanation for your...
Read moreWe are extremely disappointed with service after receiving our power lift recliner that cost 3000+ dollars.
Since August, when we received it for my 91-year-old father, we knew that the seat was too high because my feet never touched the floor, as they had when I selected the model in the store. I called soon after its arrival and it took till January for someone to come in. By then, chair had Developed new problems: it was making a loud sound, as if it was catching on some thing while we tried to recline it, and it was even getting stuck, leaving my father in a reclined position and unable to get up. Fortunately, someone was home with him and helped him out of the chair.
I waited to hear back with an official decision after their visit and finally called the company that did the assessment, Comfort Care?. Incredibly, they said there was nothing wrong with the chair, even though the technician had told my sister that a support had broken, but was now no longer causing a problem. They also said our seat is higher than the model because the floor model had had some use so the seat was lower. ???! But when your thighs are up above the armrests and feet are three inches off the floor it’s too great of a difference from the model for that to be the reason.
My father is too afraid of the chair to sit in it. So the fact that the remote stopped working last week doesn’t even really matter. But it is still a new problem that adds to my conclusion that this was a total lemon of a chair.
I have left numerous messages on the main line, the last one today, asking for the help without any response. La-Z-Boy should be doing the right thing and remedying these problems, which should be covered under the warranty.
I hope to get a call back that will finally lead to a fair resolution.
What is the purpose of a showroom where you can try out models if the chair you get isn’t like the other in...
Read moreMy family and I were very excited to buy furniture at Lazyboy. People in the store mentioned how much they liked the couches we picked out as they had them at home and were very comfortable. Overall the sales people and design team were helpful and a good experience. Unfortunately the durations we received were completely inaccurate. We bought in January and were told we would have by May. When May came we were told August. When August came we were told September. The waiting and durations weren’t really our issue. It was the delivery. Although we missed the call to let us know a piece had broken we forgot to check. But knowing they were coming we called them to make sure but no mention of the issue. They showed up with two missing pieces that apparently broke at the warehouse or while loading. While moving into the house the movers discovered two additional pieces were broken. So after waiting 9 months for them, four out of the thirteen pieces were broke and had to be reordered. God only knows how long that will take. Then of course after calling the store to figure out what to do, the movers quickly left before I could finish looking at all the pieces as I was more concerned with the missing items, I noticed that there were some folds, markings and holes in the leather. Granted some of it could be it needs to acclimate but on back corner of one piece looked like it had been dropped so service is coming to look at it. We spent more money on this than our car is worth in our new home so the end was a very disappointing experience. Hopefully I get new pieces and not poorly repaired pieces. We shall see how they handle this. I just want a good quality living room set...
