Ok, so we stayed at the Schlitterbahn Resort while we were here. That's the only reason the trip was halfway decent. While staying at the resort, you get into Blastenhof an hour early. YOU NEED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS. Go ride the Master Blaster and Wolfpack in that hour before the park opens to everybody else. Otherwise, you are waiting for hours to ride anything.
We went for three days. Cost a little over $1600 for the resort and park passes. All in all, the kids had fun, but we probably won't visit again. We rode the master blaster once, the wolfpack once, and did some of the stuff in the other parks once. Several times, we simply got out of line and floated the torrent river or did the wave pool. Lines are far too long, and it's way too hot to spend most of your day standing in them.
Grabbed some food in the park. On the first day, nobody had ice. I got a couple of burgers for the family, which was probably as long a wait as the water slides (except it wasn't due to lines. Most of the help at this park is kids, and this is a summer gig for them. Luckily, you can take your own food into the park.
Look, most of the staff were really great. The resort was excellent. The rides, when you can get on them, are fun. Do not wait in line for wolfpack. That one doesn't warrant the wait. Master Blaster is an experience I'd wait for it at least once. That said, with the money you are gonna spend to ride just a few rides in this massive park, you are gonna leave a little deflated. Maybe we are jaded coming from the Houston area. We love Typhoon Texas and Schlitterbahn in Galveston. Both those parks are tiny compared to Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. But, they keep the lines moving. The line for The Typhoon at Typhoon Texas can get long, as anyone who has been there knows. But believe me, that line moves at warp speed compared to the lines at Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels.
The park is an experience everyone should do at least once. Just maybe make it a one day stop in a greater trip of the New Braunfels area and instead...
Read moreABSOLUTELY A HUGE RIP OFF! For the amount of money we spent to stand in only 3 lines to ride! Yes, only 3 rides! They now want you to pay a fast pass for $145 on top of your $65 ticket! Then they can cut in line so it makes the regular lines 2-3 hours... Definitely will not be back. We have been coming here since the 90's. I knew there are lines, but not this ridiculous.
They even had a girl pass out in line. The teenage lifeguards had no idea what to do. Up on the tower the fat life guards that tried running up couldn't make it and again had no skills on what to do.
That God, there was a medic in the line to help the uneducated kids as lifeguards.
ABSOLUTELY disgusted...
Read moreWe buy season passes every year and it's worth it. However, since there was a change of ownership, there are noticeable changes. Definitely more security and fences than before. Had one bad experience with one of the employees that checks the bag before entering the park. He did not give my 13 year old directions on where to go next and yelled at her when she didn't read his mind to know where to go and he was rude to my fiancé when he tried to understand what was wrong. But that's only one bad apple. Other than that, the rides are fun and there is always something around to get wet and cool off...
