Words can’t describe how uplifting, amazing and truly inspiring this gym is. Sarah and Michelle are amazing people who truly care for every single individual that comes through their doors. There are women of all shapes, sizes and ages coming here, and it makes for a really inclusive and collaborative environment. I’ve been to big gyms before and always felt intimated. I didn’t feel comfortable working out amongst everyone there. I’ve never had this problem at Alanna. The staff is so accommodating, warm and welcoming. They truly give you personalized service and accommodate your needs. They know every member by name, and are always friendly and forthcoming in their interactions with members. The Alanna team has given me so much motivation over the past few months that I have been here. I appreciate their kind words, daily motivation, and wisdom. Going to the gym seemed like a chore, but now I actually enjoy it and a large part of that is due to the environment.
All the trainers are knowledgeable, encouraging and really amazing. I train with Karolina and Onna, both of who have pushed me in the past few months, and have helped me reach my fitness goals. The trainers are unique in that they will work with your body and your fitness level. They will push you, but won’t have you doing things that your body isn’t ready for. Ive been here a little over 5-6 months and have lost ten pounds in total. I can’t say enough good things about this gym. The overall inclusive and warm environment that Michelle and Sarah have cultivated here is very unique and truly a marvel to behold.
They have a selection of diverse classes available (Zumba, Pilates, HIIT, Kickboxing, etc.) and also have semi private sessions that are more personalized. I’ve almost all their major classes and have never had any complaints. I highly recommend the Zumba classes with Michelle and Jennifer, they are so fun. You feel so pumped up afterwards. The HIIT training with Karen is killer, but you will feel so good afterwards. She is great and never judges anyone who needs a break or can’t do an exercise.
The only downsides of the gym is that it is a bit pricey, and I wish they were open earlier so I can get a bit of a workout in before work, but overall the pros definitely outweighs the cons. I’ve enjoyed my past few months at Alanna and am looking forward to ending the new...
Read moreI joined Alana Life & Fitness six years ago. I loved the fact that it was an all womens gym, truly a no judgment zone. After suffering two catastrophic injuries and long rehabs ($$$), I decided that it was time to go back to the gym. It was more affordable than rehab, and I knew it had more to offer than rehab alone. When I returned, it was after the pandemic, and I learned that it was under new ownership.
Fast forward to the present. After years of rehabilitation and just life in general, being a woman in her 50s, I was extremely discouraged, thinking that returning to the gym would be an uphill battle. I wasn't wrong, but it has truly been a satisfying journey.
The new owners, Michelle & Sara, are amazing! They have great ideas, offer fun and challenging classes, and the staff are positive, uplifting and they are very supportive.
Michelle, Sara, and all the trainers push us to be our best. Take it from someone who thought it would be impossible to lose weight after 50. I will be 55 in December, and since returning to Alana Life & Fitness (April 2022), I have lost a total of 11 lbs., 4 of those pounds were lost during the 28+ Day Challenge.
I have officially been a member of Alana Life & Fitness under three owners now and Michelle & Sara are the best thing that ever happened to Alana Life & Fitness.

Read moreI visited this place a year and a half ago as a guest pass, and there was a coach who showed us the equipment and how they work. Then I traveled. I came back to Brooklyn and re considered this place. They also called me and offered to attend a zumba class with them. I agreed because I've never seen their classes.
I came as a guest pass and attended it for a few minutes. After the class (that I didn't even finish), I could've left, but I waited for the zumba trainer only for one purpose, which was to thank her for having me (because I'm a highly mannered person).
So Michelle, the zumba trainer, when she saw me she started talking to me about the memberships and prices (which I didn't ask for) because I know them already and I was okay with them. I thanked her, but she asked me to pay (to register) and somehow got triggered when I said I won't pay today. She started to accuse me of being a procrastinator, and she did an awkward series of investigative questions, a session full of judgments and lying charges, haha. I didn't have to explain anything to her, but I tried to answer because I didn't want to be rude. In the end, she was frustrated and told me, "It's your loss, we didn't lose anything."
Horrible marketing! No hard feelings, and I didn't take anything personal, but it shows me that this is a judgy environment and a place that is desperate...
